This is a carving of Urist Mc Random. Urist McRandom is travelling. This refers to Urist McRandom leaving Some Place in 202.

I've had this one of dwarves leaving my fort, and I never knew they just left.

I also have the one of the dwarf embracing two hydras.

The dwarf in question would be a merchant or a merchant guard.

On the wall there is a finely-designed image of a wagon. The wagon is cringing.

On the wall there is a masterfully designed image of a wagon and the elf Cacame Revenewave by Dumed Betanzasit. The wagon is cringing. The elf is striking a menacing pose. The artwork relates to the devouring of a wagon by the elf Cacame Revenewave in The Fell Forests in the summer of 381.

At least it wasn't the wagon eating the elf.

Huh, maybe that's where all the wagons have gone, they get eaten during world gen...

I have dozens of carvings of historical events of humans fleeing into The Influential Swamp. Each one is of a different human, and the years on them span from 455 to 1035. I really want to know why all these humans fled into a swamp. What were they fleeing from? What was in the swamp? Why do these comprise about half of my fortresses artwork?

this isnt a wierd engraving, but it is funny.

one of my engravers made an ingraving of a door, right next to the real door.

i cant see the outpost liason walking into the wall thinking it was the door XD

somewhere else in the room theres also an engraving of a cabinet next to the real cabinet
that engraver really did want to screw with the mayor

I always get standard stupid "This relates to the founding of the fort" crap.

I just found one that was actually mildly interesting:

Engraved on the floor is a superiorly designed image of Kogan Womendiamonds the dwarf and Olngo Dogfly the goblin by Mosus Egdothlitast. Kogan Womendiamonds is making a plaintive gesture. Olngo Dogfly is striking a menacing pose. The artwork relates to the mortal wounding of the dwarf Kogan Womendiamonds by the goblin Olngo Dogfly with a iron bolt from a iron crossbow in Razorrhymes in the late autumn of 121 during The Abduction of the dwarf Vucar Brushurn at Razorrhymes.

Oh, and one about the appointment of the dwarf Solon Murdersteel to Captain of the Guard.

I have a fortress where my civ's symbol is a splint, and my group's symbol is a crutch, so my dining hall is full of engravings of the two pieces of medical equipment.
