Here is Year Five. Remember everyone, if you don't put an action to food, you're going to lose some children to famine. Basically, I just use whatever food bonus you have as your food roll. So, if you have +4 or more, you'll either stay the same or gain a few children. Anything less and you'll be losing some. So keep that in mind.
Next due date is the evening of Wednesday, April 7.
On a side note, we're five turns into the game, so feel free to give me any feedback you have so far. I think the rules have evolved pretty nicely, and we're getting some unique tribes. Crafts perhaps have less value than they could, and we haven't had a battle yet, so those areas are ones I need to think about and work on. Let me know what you think when you post your next turn.
Without further ado:

Food is plentiful this year, and it is stored in the newly assembled root cellar to create a large surplus. Five new children are born. However, tragedy strikes the crossbow assembly process when fumes from the glue, much stronger than anticipated, kill three men. To mourn them, construction on the bows is halted.
Summary: Plentiful food (+5 children), root cellar created (+1 food), glue fumes kill men (-3 men), no crossbows
Bonuses: +2 to food, +1 to battle, +1 to trade
Resources: Breeding mules, excellent crafts (1), battle mushrooms, crossbow parts
Technology: Glue

After the lethargy disease recedes, the Xio'Vi have a successful year. Enough food is hunted, and the men continue to gain knowledge of the forest and its denizens. A rare bird is caught by one of the men, and he begins to teach others how to do so. Herbs are brought to the shaman for brewing, and he creates a pleasant enough drink, although it fails to catch on among the young. The blow dart range leads to an innovation, as a new feathered dart creates a longer ranged weapon.
Summary: Enough food, forest knowledge gained (rare birds caught), herb drink fails to catch on, feathered dart discovered
Bonuses: +1 to food, +1 to battle
Resources: Rare bird
Technology: Blow guns, vine nets, feathered dart

Fishing provides a good amount of sustenance for the Order of the Storm this year. The land-based tribe has difficulty starting up their farming, but survive on goodwill food donations from their sea-based brethren. The Order of the Storm creates a major breakthrough, and builds a large sea-based platform tethered to the bottom in several places to live on during the day. Pearl crafting is resumed, and while it is enough to soothe the king, none of the pieces are entirely impressive.
Summary: Enough food for both tribes from seas, difficulty farming, sea-based platform made (+1 to boats), mediocre pearl crafts created
Bonuses: +2 to food, +2 to boats
Resources: Pearls
Technology: Sails

A large harvest is brought in this year and stored in the storage hut. The tribe makes some progress on ropes, but none are able to hold a man's weight yet. While attempting to create a bow, two men get in a quarrel about the best technique and one ends up dead after a fight. The elders' exhortation to make many children coincides well with the large harvest, and several more children are born than in a normal year.
Summary: Large harvest, lots of children (+8 children), some progress on ropes, quarrel about bows (-1 man)
Bonuses: +1 to wood, +2 to food, +1 to defense
Resources: Planted berries, storage hut

Whale becomes the talk of the tribe this year. Making tools out of whale bones proves to be difficult for some of the tribe, and those who are proficient at it begin to taunt those that aren't. A fight quickly breaks out, and four men and an elder are killed in the surprisingly ferocious melee. Fishing nets are created using whale entrails. The excitement over Ruud's whale may be too much for the tribe to handle this year, as another violent fight breaks out among men discussing how to best use the whale oil, and three are killed. And despite the abundance of fishing supplies and newfound interest in whales, not enough attention is paid to food gathering, and only three new children are born, despite the virility spices.
Summary: Two fights over whales (-7 men, -1 elder), fishing nets created, not enough food (+3 children)
Bonuses: +10 children per turn, +1 to battle, +1 to food
Resources: Virility spices
Technology: Small boats, fishing nets

The tuber farm plots are cultivated, providing adequate food for the year. A party of three wood collectors is struck down by a rogue bear, and further collections are banned by the elders out of fear. More caribou are caught, but there isn't enough excess food to fatten them up this year.
Summary: Farm plots created, ample food, rogue bear attack (-3 men), more caribou caught
Bonuses: +1 to food, +1 to battle, +1 to caribou
Resources: Stronger caribou, wooden lean-tos, regular caribou

The great camel fair is a success. Much knowledge is shared, and a young man sweeps the camel races using an invention he calls a saddle. Soon all the tribesmen are fitting their camels with them. The mounted survey parties find several promising desert caves, but are unable to explore too deeply in them this year. Rope is weaved out of strong fibers of camel hair, and the elders spend many nights imagining uses for it. However, with all the attention paid to the camel festival, food production is not as closely watched, and a small famine strikes the tribe.
Summary: Successful fair (saddle discovered),caves found, camel hair rope, small famine (-3 children)
Bonuses: +1 to food, +1 to leather, +4 to camel, +1 to crafts
Resources:
Technology: Shelters, glue, saddle, camel hair rope

Farming is plentiful this year, and the tribe continues to hone its techniques. Five new children are born from the surplus. Breeding horses is moderately successful, although no major changes are seen in the population. The granary is built successfully, storing some of the extra food for next year. Spears continue to be wielded by the men, but no advances in technique have been hit upon.
Summary: Plentiful food (+5 children), breeding moderately successful (no major changes), granary built (+1 to food), no major spear breakthroughs
Bonuses: +5 to food, +1 to horses
Resources: Tame horses, jade, jade crafts (1)
