Never before have I seen a more suitable name in DF
« on: March 09, 2010, 06:19:58 pm »

this is my wrestling champion squad, as I'm on a map with very little means of making weapons other than cross bows and need tight quarters defense.

"The Rough Champions" What a suitable name! and LOOK! Even better. Try to pronounce the name in Dwarven.  :D

Nice!

My favorite squad name is still "The Balls of Steel", though.

Did you name the leader Duke? If not, I will smack you.

I regrettably fail to recognize your reference.
It has come to my attention that I have earned a smacking.

Is is possible to get "Fallen Angels" as a squad name? Or "LoveCraft" as a fortress name?

Nice!

My favorite squad name is still "The Balls of Steel", though.

Sig'd, I have a collection.

So, basically, it is just a matter of luck whether you live or suffer horrible death... sounds like dwarf fortress.

With that chain of command, you'd be lucky if ONE dwarf wasn't constantly on break...

Also, I read the dwarven name as "dumb attacker" not "doom attacker". I suppose the first makes more sense when talking about dwarves, what with their babyshields and all.

I read it was "Dumb attacker" I dont know where people are getting "Doom attacker" from  ::)
They're wrestlers after all.

Speaking of babyshields, one of them just had a baby.

'The Barricaded Rags' sounds like every non-useful dwarf in the fortress.

Oh, 'The Incinerated Spears' would be great for a unit of speardwarves who fought off a dragon invasion.

Hopefully we'll be able to give customised titles to squads some time.

It's not an embark so much as seven dwarves having a simultaneous strange mood and going off to build an artifact fortress that menaces with spikes of awesome and hanging rings of death.

Incase you still don't get it, Duke Nukem sometimes says "I have balls of steel!"

Now tell me, are each of those champions wearing socks encrusted in gems and menacing with spikes?

Ha! Awsome squad name.
I once had a fort called Fortressballs
In my current fort I have a champion named: Endok Pointedpapers the Climatic Holiness of Failure.
I think thats the best title I've ever had for a champion.

I'm picturing a squad of champion dwarf wrestlers as an insane luchadores team.  ;D
