Let's Play Aquaria - Chapter 3, Part 3 - Heart of the Forest
« on: March 09, 2010, 10:12:08 am »

So yeah! If you didn't read the topic I created prior to this, Aquaria is an award-winning indie action/adventure game, which can truly be considered a work of art. In this game we'll follow Naija as she searches for knowledge about her past, and finding out who she is.

Just to give you a little bit of information:

((Anything written in double brackets like this is general OOC stuff from me explaining about the game or other things in general.))
Things written in italics are in-character dialog from Naija. Anything in Italics and Arial font are lines said in the actual game.

With that said, here's the current index of updates!

  • Prologue
  • Chapter 1 - Awakening
  • Chapter 2 - The God of Hunger
  • Chapter 3 - Heart of the Forest
And here's the list of the music encountered so far! Go listen to it! The soundtrack is freaking awesome!

    Song Name* (Situation/Area)

    Light (The Verse Cave)
    Mystery (Naija's Past)
    The Traveller (Home Waters)
    Home (Naija's Home)
    Technique (The Song Cave)
    Archaic (The Energy Temple)
    Fatal (Fallen God)
March of the Krotites (Krotite Vision)
    Boss Fraught (Various Minibosses)
    Undiscovered Waters (Open Waters)
    Remains (Mithalas City)
    Cathedral (Mithalas Cathedral)
    Mithala (Mithala)
The Fall of Mithalas (Mithalan Vision)
    Above (The Veil)
    Li (Li's Cave)
Heart of the Forest (Kelp Forest)

great first post Myroc. It sure is a fair bit of work to get through a decent amount of in game time isnt it?

I have a question. What are those jellyfish things that have been following you around, do they harm you?

Those small green jellyfish are only eye candy. They tend to follow you around, and are harmless.

This should be good.

Glad we all switched our votes over to this one, it's looking quite good so far.   :)

This game gets more and more awesome the longer you play it. I will never regret those 10€ I spent on Steam for it.

It certainly looks very nice from a visual standpoint.

Time to go back and move some of those rocks Naija's already run across out of the way, I suppose?

In your last post, myroc, there's a huge blank gap between the picture after the sentence "After exploring the narrow pathways, I soon came upon a clue. The engravings on the wall detailed a small tune." and the end of your post. Am I missing something or is it just a glitch?

Looking forward to your next post.

edit - wow, awesome music. It really makes a game so much better when the music is done so well.

...huh.

Before loading all the pictures, the text and all that is just fine. After all the pictures have loaded, however, it seems to cut off there. There is certainly more to the update than that.

I'm gonna try putting the two in different spoilers, hang on...

The forums doesn't seem to let me have all that in one post. Here is the second part of the update.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Edit: Is this better? Does it show? It works for me as long as I close the first spoiler before opening the first one.

Edit edit: Also, no update today. I think instead of doing one small update every day, I'm going to make two large updates every week, each monday and friday. (My goal is to get the whole Energy Temple in the next update, though that may be a BIT much.)

Update on the incoming. Thankfully, uploading pictures has gone marginally easier. Signing up on TinyPic let me upload five pictures at once instead of one at a time. It goes a little slower, but with 90 screenshots, and less than half of the update done, it's a lot more effective and a little less tedious.

Did I mention that this update is ginormous?

have you tried photobucket? you can upload as many images as you want at one time (queing system, only actually uploads one image at a time) but you can do it in bulk which is really nice.
