I managed to re-write one quarter of the update before being reminded I have a test tomorrow.

As I woke up, I was faced by a shattering headache. I had dreamed something that night, but I could only remember fragments, small glimpses of the fall of an ancient civilization, independent of water. What was the meaning of this? Was the boy still alive? Were I supposed to find him? I couldn't say.





As I continued my exploration, I happened upon a strange hissing gas...



The hot steam burned my skin as I tried to approach it. My verse shield would not repel it either. Until I could find out a way to pass it unscathed, I would have to wait with searching beyond.




Swimming back into the throne room, I decided to look around for a way to open the huge door impeding my process into the depths beyond.







...that was easier than expected.







Sickly, red veins ran throughout this ancient cathedral. Where hopeful believers had once come to rejoice, foul monsters now thrived.




The vast chamber of flesh stretched on, ending with a just barely visible wall in the distance.




The creatures I encountered kept becoming more and more grotesque and horrible.














A large wall of muscle and bone stood between me and the room beyond. It was impervious to any kind of assault.






I discovered a new food, which had antitoxin characteristics. While it was easy to discern the components used in making it, I had problems discerning one of the ingredients itself. It needed a poultice with more restorative capabilities than I had the knowledge to make.

((The Leeching Poultice heals a moderate amount of Naija's health and also cures poison (which I'll get to later). It is made by cooking together a Healing Poultice and a Glowing Egg. We have yet to find a Healing Poultice, which is strange, as I did have one before finding this on my first playthrough.))

However, I did know that jelly oil had minor restorative capabilities. Perhaps if I combined the two...



((The Healing Poultice restores a moderate amount of Naija's health, and is made by cooking a Leaf Poultice with a Jelly Oil. Also, yes, I cheated here a little. But then, I did so with Tasty Roll too. >_>))










I quickly learned that if there's a problem you can't solve, try to go around it. Sometimes literally.




The massive aberration in front of me filled me with dread and disgust. The mutants I had thought before, while horrific, were at least comfortably humanoid. This was a large, massive... thing covered in eyes and tendrils.




((Also, yes. They shoot giant laz0r beams out of their eyes. Why? It's a mystery.))



While the abomination's outer shell was invulnerable, it had a small mound of flesh which was unprotected.











The massive creature exploded in gore. I sensed that with its destruction, I had partially uncovered a part of the cathedral.







I was then deposited in the main room, from which I continued my exploration to the other parts of this place.







((I have no idea why this path is here. Absolutely no idea.))






I winced as I discovered that flowing through my bloodstream was not only energy, but also poison. This disease-ridden creatures would poison me if I so even touched them.

((Poison can be inflicted by some creatures, and hurts you over time. It takes a quite long time to wear off, and can be quite damaging if you don't cure it with, say...))

Another eye-monstrosity faced me. Earlier, back in the Energy Temple and against the Prime Nautilus, I was faced with the question if killing those creatures was actually right, and I was slightly guilt-ridden after doing so. However, in this place I felt no remorse about incinerating mutant after mutant.







Die.







I wiped the blood off my face and continued exploring.











Seemingly endless in number...







As I continued on, I discovered two new foods at the same time.



One was a fortiffication and healing agent...



...while the other was venomous to the core.

((The Tough Cake restores a moderate amount of Naija's health, and also boosts her defense for a small while. It is made by combining Sea Cake with Rubbery Meat.))

((The Poison Cake is as foul as the Poison Loaf, and damages a moderate amount of Naija's Health. It is made by combining Poison Loaf with Sea Cake. Why you would want to do this will be revealed later.))

Foul green gas spewed forward from these shell-like faucets. I had noticed that when a mutant dashed into it, it's body would degenerate even further, into a thick-shelled being, barely resembling what it used to be.




But its muscle was no longer enough to propel its massive girth through the water, leaving them at my leisure.









((Hooray for sorting!))





A massive maelstrom flowed through this room, as one-eyed parasites flowed around me, threatening to overwhelm me.









I finally managed to exit the room...



Only to be assaulted by another beholder.












I killed the final rotten core of this wretched cathedral, and tears welled up in my eyes. With every creature I destroyed, every ancient being put to rest, I felt a part of myself slip away. It was not only I that had caused the destruction, but that I had...

...enjoyed it.

I feared this nightmare would never end, and I would be drawn into a spiral of dementia. Perhaps I would never find my family, but there had to be someone...

...someone to keep me from the darkness.

Ahh. There is a button called PrtScn, and if you press it and then like paste into like paint, that could work I guess. It's what I do when I need a screen shot.

Yes, but with updates easily coming to 100-200 screenshots (and that's BEFORE cutting out the unneccesary ones), doing that for every single screenshot is something I absolutely will not try.

It's rather messy to do that with anything but a turn-based game, though, and some games don't react well to minimising.

also, see if the game has an internal screenshot control. That usually makes things a lot easier.
