it really is an excellent game. the veil and the abyss music are very excellent. We can all wait for the next update when myroc gets to it. real life comes first.

Spoiler: Chapter 3, Part 2 - Li (Part 1) (click to show/hide)

The humanoid figure was unlike any one I had seen before. Though he beared resemblance to the earlier Mithalans or Krotites, he was definitely not one of them. My curiosity overwhelmed me, and I pursued.




He wasn't very eager having anyone following him, though. He attempted to escape.















I had finally cornered the strange-looking creature. He tried to flee from me again, but my curiosity was too great to allow his escape.

He seemed to be trapped in an odd-looking shell. Perhaps if I removed it...








I was surprised to find that underneath this boy's shell, he had a face not unlike my own. A face that seemed... familiar.




Without knowing what I was doing, I floated forward, pressing my lips against his. A tune lept to my throat - one embedded deep within my memory.




The Verse flowed through me, and bound itself around us. Hours, days... perhaps seconds passed. I'd lost all concept of time. There was only the Verse... and...

Li.

His name rang in my head. This creature was called Li. We were so similar. And yet... not. I was intrigued.




The Verse waned slowly, and we drifted apart until nothing but water flowed around us. Li gazed at me through half-closed eyes. He seemed at peace...



My mind faded.




Slowly, I awoke. For a moment, I had no idea where I was.






Li returned, and I remembered...



It was odd to think that I was not the only person left alive. I was aware of every flaw in my appearance. I felt exposed. Color rose to my cheeks and I struggled to hide my shame.




My connection to Li allowed him to exist within the waters without his awkward shell.



It had also given him a new appetite for the creatures of the water.

As he ate, I could tell he was excited with his new abilities. We realized we'd both ventured out to find answers.



We left that place, knowing that together, we would be able to explore further than either of us could on our own. For the first time in all my memory...

...I was not alone.

((Alright, with that heartwarming (and slightly sappy in my opinion) cutscene over, we're left to explore with our new companion, Li. He has his uses, which we will explain later.))





((This land-based area also doubles as a kitchen. Also note the new necklace with Li's sign in the menu.))




((Let's leave the cave for now so we can show off what he's capable off.))




((By singing Li's song while nearby, you toggle his combat mode, which enables him to fire energy bolts about, which are almost exactly the same as Naija's energy bolts. They might do more damage, but I haven't observed so. He fires at a rate of approximately one per second. It's not terribly useful, but not useless. The fact that you can also toggle it is useful if you for some reason do NOT want him to fire at stuff. Also, singing Li's song while he's far away from you (like off the screen or on the other side of a wall) will instantly warp him towards you.))





((Some of you may wonder why you should get him at all, since he doesn't seem to contribute beyond a slightly higher rate of fire. First of all, a minor reason is that a little ranged support can be nice if you're in beast form or a non-combat form. Second, more importantly (slight spoiler), he is required to access a certain area and to use a certain form, both which are required to finish the game.))

I think that roughly two months of cliffhanger is kinda sufficient. I need to go change my avatar back.
