I'm more interested in the view of the larger area.  It's so bleak, all gray and dank forever with decaying buildings all over.  I would love to poke around those buildings, although it'd probably be Crackhead Central.

Actually, if you paid attention to the page title, it says "Ekranoplan "Lun'". Ekranoplan, as in "ground effect craft". So it's less "water-capable bomber" and more "air-capable troop transport/torpedoboat". The Caspian Sea Monster is was even bigger than that.

Yeah, it's a ground effect vehicle.  It's basically a hovercraft that rides on a cushion  of air that is generated by the wings.  It doesn't produce enough lift to fly, but it does go very fast over water.  GEVs ride too low to be effective land vehicles because a tree or shed could cause it to come crashing to the ground.  Because they are used mostly over water, they have strong hulls to withstand the impact from landing.  The one in the pictures was most likely a mobile missile launcher.
