I sent a PM to Dragnar requesting to be teamed with him shortly after his first post in this thread, but then he logged off. Large teams would be an interesting experiment, but I'd rather not be on one. Want to team with me, Armok?
Ok, I'm in, I responded to your PM and added a few ideaws of my own.

hmm this looks interesting. Anyone not yet have a partner want me on their team? Or even a pair looking for a third.

I usually avoid the team efforts, as they can get very, very slow. But I'd be willing to try, mostly because that map looks awesome. :) One of the better tribal type hex ones I've seen

YES A NEW ONE
TOTALLY IN, WILL EDIT LATER

EDIT: Okay anyone want to team with me? I think I'm pretty good at this, and I'm flexible in terms of work - if you have a paper to write or whatnot, I can pick up the slack.

Er, Shikogan, this is a little too loosely defined for my tastes. Could you elaborate on the rules? Will it be similar to E-Lite? Specifically, these are my questions:

None, anymore.

Haika, if you want, I'll join you.

Shikogan, I'm also confused about EP gain per pop. You say pop/settlements = EP, then how is 10/1 = 7? Or are settlements with a size < 3 not counted? And why would you divide by settlements? If you have a single 10/10 settlement and you build a new one you are halving your EP!

okay i assumed everyone had already got the basic concepts of EVO down. I'm talking about the original ones not e-lite. i deliberately left it "loose" because i haven't the time to make actual defined rules and such. I just wrote down some stuff and in the actual game i'll refine it. population change is a bit difficult i will definitely change that don't worry. as for influencing birth rate, just say in your "defensive" evolutions you could have a litter size of 2 as your first rank then up it to 3 then 5 and 8 or something like that, just make your creature reasonable and we'll get on fine.

Oh hell, I sure hope this doesn't end up like the last two games you started, Shikogan.

I'll just watch for now.

ok so, how many groups are actually playing? And are we ready to start and if so, what exactly do we need to get started?

Ie:
*How many EP do we start with?
*Are we all humanoid to start? or some sort of blob thing?
*Do we choose any spot to start with on that map? Or do you choose for us?

and I might mention, that the previous poster has me worried, as well as looking at your past GM history... ;/

Could someone link to the original evolution?

This is Aqizzar's Evolution 3. It was probably the best codified, so read that if you read anything. Right now we're on Evolution 6, by the way.

okay elevation really is just there to give you an idea of the map these terrain changes have nothing to do with affecting rolls neither does change in environment terrain (unless your trying to get things to live underwater without them breathing underwater) yes population is your only 'resource' per se. population is there to generate EP and show how much of your little things you have. yes claws and teeth will both affect actions regarding 'military' stuff, but they also affect hunting or even climbing trees, it just depends on your action and which evolutions i find to be pertinent in that action. there really is no population 'movement' just say that you want 3/10 pop to go start a new colony over yonder, well they will kind of just appear there no movement as each turn is generations. also EVERY action is determined by a d100 roll, combat, research, colonizing ect.

And yes my GM history has been fairly bad but if you look it was over a year ago, and the game i was trying to do had too many things in it for my tastes, which is why i'm doing it this way.

Ah. So suppose there are 8/10 pop in a hex, and I say I want 3/10 to start a new colony in some other hex. Does that mean I will get 2 population (because I had 8 pop), or only 1 (because now I only have 5 pop)?

Also, could you elaborate more on specifically how EP gain is calculated? I've looked through previous threads and they don't say much about it.
