[D&D] 4ed - standard campaign [4/5] :Over.
« on: March 08, 2010, 06:46:09 pm »

Hello, my fellow Dwarves Adventurers.
I'm thinking about starting a 4ed campaign in D&D, any requests at special features or the style of the game always welcome.
We'll be using gametable, and any source book you can point me to.
I have the cores, and the martial power.
If you don't have them, then it shouldn't be a big problem.

Anyone up for another campaign?

I'd be interested, as for suggestions I'm not sure. Something unique is always fun.

IN LIKE A MOTHERF**KER.

Any book restrictions?

At this point, I've either acquired, or am currently borrowing, almost every sourcebook.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

How about an all-dwarves game?

I'm in.  An all-dwarves game isn't my thing, though.

How about you being of various races, BUT in a dwarven kingdom?

mission0: I'll make sure this game uses at least 20 tvtropes  ;)

What I will tell you that I have decided, is that this game isn't going to make a proxy economy. If you'll do a great job breaking it hero, by bringing lots of gold, making a castle, starting to buy like crazy or something else, then a town will expand for sure. The game will be city oriented, with wilderness such as swamps, forests and mountains, but an outright battle is possible. I find it a fun opportunity to make 3 adventures instead of 1 at a time. Say there are caves with goblins around the city. The plot will not push you there. Yes it might say that it's a good idea to go there, but you'll also be able to assault a dragon at lv 1 and get yourself killed.
I just like realism, thank you very much.
Anyone up for a kill the evil dictator with a twist campaign?

I'm cool with the occasional obvious trope, but don't go overboard.  If we spend the whole of the storyline yelling out tropes and laughing to each other at the inside jokes, it's going to feel like a bit of a circlejerk.

On a similar note, how serious will this be?  I'm making a human fighter named Ulf Bjornbjorn.  Is that unacceptably silly?

Also, ability scores.  How do we get them?  I'm doing standard array as a placeholder, but whatever you want to do is cool

Standard array, sure thing.
Aaand I'm going to use the power of literature lore provided to catch you off guard, and create interesting npc's.
Knowledge of the evil overlord list, might be usefull.
Meh heh heh.

Pretty dang serious will this campaign be I might add. But whatever the name It's acceptable. But I don't guarantee an Npc won't laugh at you for that...

If no-one objects, I'll play an Eladrin Teleporlock.

Starting at level 1?

Alright, if it's a more serious campaign I won't go completely silly with the name.

How much gold do we start out with?
