Ambushed by horse. What?

I have just been ambushed. The announcement took me to a farmer and a horse. I wonder "Where's the invaders?" so I check my unit list. Turns out the horse is the invader. The only invader. I'M BEING INVADED BY A HORSE. I could be at war with the elves, not at war with the humans, and goblins are still existing as a species. So who could be sending this horse to fight me?


EDIT: Nevermind, turns out he was a scout for elves. A sword elf, wrestlers and bow elves. This will be fun. Time to kill the bastards!

that'll be the elves. sometimes they apper mounted, and of course the mounts become ambushing as well.

... That's pretty amusing, nevertheless that the alarm sounded that you were being ambushed by a horse.

Perhaps next time, they shall divert your soldiers away from their cunning strike with their clever war chipmunks.

The farmer must've thought the horse took the elf hostage, because elves are not considered even remotely capable of warfare.

No disrespect to horses. I understand saying something is better than elves is not necessarily much of a compliment, but I have no doubt in the horses' martial prowess.

Unlucky, you can get Elves riding Unicorns when they come to ambush if you're really lucky. All that lovely Unicorn leather, meat, bones & fat you missed out on.

Though why a unicorn would choose to ally with the elves is beyond me. It's not like the elves will be able to support them in combat. Unicorns may be strong, but geez, elves? With how powerful they are, they could've had much better than elves.

Yup, had this happen to me as well. Except I got two whole squads of horses and three squads of mounted elves afterwards.

What was even more weird, was the elven squads walked right non top of a lone fisher dwarf and left him alone.

Clearly they realized that no matter how many wooden toys they call weapon they may bring, they simply cannot match one who has to face carp for a living.
