When Moldavia was conquered it was freed from Ottoman control and put under the rule of the Austrians, however the annexation had put the entire region in chaos, allowing a group of Moldavian revolutionaries managed to gain enough men to surpass even Guido's forces in the area, forcing him to retreat, The Independant's went to work trying to form their own nation.
However, Guido, once retrieving reinforcements from Transylvania immediatly marched on the new principality, the following battle which would be known as the Battle of Moldavian Independance
The battle began, of course, with the opening of the cannons on the Moldavian army, sending them into chaos and the militia abandoned discipline in favor of safety.
The march would then begin, with Guidos Militia marching forward, while the single unit of line infantry was held back as reserves.
As the militia neared the Moldavian's managed to form into something half resembling a line, and charged.
Guido's Militia took aim and fire, musket fire ripping into the Moldavians and sending them into a panic.
The Moldavians were comprised mainly of farmers and peasants, many of which didn't even know how to use the muskets they had stolen from both Ottoman, Austrian, and even Russian stocks, as a result, many simply charged the Austrian lines, hoping to break them in bloody, close, melee.
However they were facing veteran militia who Guido had made sure were well trained with the weapons they had, and the Moldavians soon broke and ran, preferring to accept Austrian rule then get stabbed in the face with a bayonet.
And thus victory was had.
On the Ottoman front, Prince Eugen has marched into Ottoman territory, Taking position far enough to not be a siege and close enough to heavily damage Ottoman trade and prevent movements into the rest of Europe, he then dug in and prepared to receive reinforcements that would allow him to assault the Ottoman Capital.
This, along with the countless raids by Austria and Venice, along with Venetian naval power destroyed trade, had destroyed Istanbul's economy.
The pressure on the Ottoman empire was now enormous, and they have to do something or the whole empire could collapse.
