[-]March 31, 2010 - Empire: Total War Update Released

Update 1.6 for the award winning Empire: Total War is available today. The update introduces a large number of revisions to the Artificial Intelligence in real time battles. Amongst many other improvements, the Battle A.I. now maintains its lines more rigorously, has better army movement and engages in melee more tactically. It is also better at protecting its own advance and engaging opponents with flanking attacks.

I won't be able to update in like a day or two depending on the size of this since my connection isn't fast enough.

As my earlyer request for a ship failed can I get a unit of those new marine skirmishers please.

Name 'em Schleichen Krieg, they'll be storming in front of the main forces harassing the enemy and slowing down units in till our guys can get into postion.

Also epic win thus far Rilder. This thread is one of the only two reasons I'm on the forums at the moment.

Small update but Its like 90 in this house right now thus I'm not in a good mood.

In 1764, the Swedish declared war on Russia, long time allies of Austria, as such they immediatly sided with the Russians, within a season, the Polish, also at war with the Swedes and allied with the Russians, allied with Austria, officially forming the Great Eastern Alliance.

The first action of the Alliance, was for Austria to March on Hannover.


However this had further ramifications, as the Army had to pull out from the Rhineland, and Spain took Advantage and declared war on the Alliance, and marched on the Rhineland, brushing aside the garrison and taking it.

The war with Spain becomes a bloody affair as the Rhineland is retaken, and the Netherlands put under Austrian rule.




On the tradelanes, the superior Spanish Fleet chases off Austrian trade, destroying one fleet while routing off another.


This is overshadowed by Barbarossa's marines taking Gibralter.


While Barbarossa himself sails against Spanish fleet assets in the area, destroying them and capturing a 2nd rate.





Back home, a new president.


And in the East, Fort Alexandria is finally finished, this fort is vital to protecting Ankara, one of the most valuable regions in the Empire.

On a side note, the patch really made things a bit more bloody for us.

Edit: Just for the record, we're entering that period of the game where it starts to get kinda tedius to play... + Auto resolve is fucked up to the point where our fleet of 2nd rates can't face a couple 5th rates without half the fleet getting sunk, meaning that I pretty much have to fight every single fleet battle.

Yes! To add excitement to the game, can I have a battalion of troops named The Warriors of Great Lactosia? Snipers, or whatnot (carbineers would be close I guess)?
