You heard it.  I'm getting back into Majesty, and I've never been able to play online except a few games on LAN with my brother.

Let's do this guys.  Four player game, huge map, diplomacy, heroes, inns, taverns, dragons, evil trees, the works.  It'll be awesome.

It'll need to be on Hamachi because the game's old and multiplayer support is all Gamespy-y, plus I had to crack it because the disk is gone.

I have 1.4 and no expansions, anyone up for this?  I'm ready any time you guys are, although it might be better to schedule a game than just wing it.  Whatever.  I'm all over it.

Oh, look at that.

Anyone else?  A four player game would be awesome.

Anyway, things went horribly wrong, we weren't able to play.

I, however, went ahead and bought the gold edition on Steam, because they deserve more of my money for making TE BEST GAEM EVAR.  It might work now.  Is there anyone else interested in a game?

I'm up.  I've got the original and the expansion CD's, I just need to install them again.  It's been far too long since I played this...

I really like how they allowed gnomes to become champions in the expansion.  Of course, they don't look half as good as the original gnomes, but it's the thought that counts.  I adore the hairy little blighters...

Elves can ruddy well piss off though.

I have college today, but I'll be available and ready to play around 7:30 or so tonight (GMT-5) so if anyone wants to have a huge crazy Majesty game, show up around then.

As much as I like killing them in that one mission, I'll have to say that my economy seems to go up when they are around, and that can be a very good thing as far as I'm concerned.

I just hate those damned lounges.  Sure, elves will generate extra gold for you (when they feel like it...), but each bungalow will set up another lounge that will attract ANY hero with insufficient willpower and then drain their pockets into a black, tax-exempt hole.  The only thing to do is to take them off the repair circuit and pray for minotaurs.

Gambling halls I don't mind so much, because rogues always seem to make a profit off of them.  It's not much, but it's still there.  I do love rogues...

I think I got a copy of majesty gold when I bought majesty 2.... gotta check up on that. I'd definitely be up for playing a few games sometime.

EDIT: Oh... forgot there are sort-of-plans with friends to play starcraft tonight. If that doesn't end up happening I'll figure stuff out and join you guys. Don't wait up if I'm not around.

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

Before I understood the economy (Which rules, by the way.  It's the only game I know of with an actual economy, rather than digging up rocks and transmuting them into buildings and soldiers) I spammed Extort every few minutes.

And yeah, does the gold the elves bring in offset the gold lost by heroes gambling away the money that would normally be making its way into your coffers?

I think that it's at least supposed to.  The thing is, as soon as you accept elves into your settlement, you'll be running on a different economy.  You'll have heroes who can cause gold to appear from thin air just by twiddling their fingers, but you'll also have money sinks that can suck it all away.  Instead of a closed circle, you'll have leaks from both ends (that sounds...  odd).

It's just different.  All depending on the situation, you could be bringing in more gold, or you could be bringing in less (doubtful).  I'm not sure of the mechanics, and it's been ages since I last played...

Besides, gnomes are just too awesome.  Who'd pass up on them just to get some blue-skinned tossers running around?  As for dwarves, well....

Apparently I really need to play the expansion. I loved gnomes in the original and it'd be awesome for them to be useful as more than repair.
