Ah. I meant "this turn" as in the turn just posted. But yeah, the penalties listed are wrong.

I'm still confused. I built apartments last turn, and my growth and morale don't take it into account, either from this turn's population growth or listed penalties. Do apartments built last turn lower crowding for purposes of population growth at the start of this turn, or is crowding/population growth from this turn considered a continuation of last turn?

I assume the listed penalty is supposed to refer to this turn, which shouldn't be right with the apartments.

Hey, what did we decide about different types of jewelry? Trading for pearls could be helpful if pearl jewelry counts as a different luxury from gold jewelry, but it's obviously useless if it's the same. And on a related note, what kind of trade rates am I looking at?

Different types of jewelry can be used separately, that is, with enough pearl jewelry and gold jewelry, you can get +2 to morale. Trade rates, right, I missed those - the merfolk would want 3 units of building material for 2 units of pearl, subject to bartering.

What about buying food and selling gold?

If all the issues are cleared up, and you guys have time, it would be great if you could try and get a turn in... I do realize I've also been late in the past, though. Just a friendly reminder.

Gah. Most of my turn was done right before Cheddarius got his up, but none of the taxes, ending stocks, etc. Now I find I'm reconsidering luxuries and such, plus a bit of it requires hearing back from Otu.

Still, should have vast majority of turn up relatively soon.

I've been having some issues with my internet connection today and yesterday, getting worse evenings. If the connection holds, I'll try to reply to the outstanding PMs.

For Vanigo - 3 Food would replace the two pearls, and 2 gold would replace the 3 building materials in the equation.

By the way, I'm not sure how much anyone cares (or should care), but I feel the need to point out that historically, muskets were something like the sixth generation of man-portable gunpowder weapons.

Actually, figuring out how technologically advanced the game should go up to might be a worthwhile discussion. I'm sure a lot of people would be fine with rag-clad savages fighting wizards fighting steam-powered airships fighting crude gatling cannons fighting magitech power armor, but it might not be everyone's cup of tea.

My gut call for eclectic fantasy is early Renaissance in a few highly-advanced places, and lower everywhere else. But that's just me.

Would you prefer them called gonne/hand cannon? That may work better from a historically correct standpoint.

It's basically cosmetic; no big deal either way. Changing it would make more sense, but I just needed to get that off my chest, really.
