You know what would be jerkish?

Continually rolling new recruits, arming them with adamantine crossbows and ammunition, and then attempting to assassinate the masters. Eventually you'd get through...

You have to be a master in order to attempt to assassinate one. Besides, the new version is making ranged stuff not as murderous so that would have less of a chance of working. Besides, anyone blatantly abusing the rules or making things very annoying to other players in a way not intended by the rules will face punishment.

The rules intend for and in fact encourage betrayal, backstabbing, bribery and other malicious acts but there is a difference between that and briefing. A cabal of powerful masters controlling the events of the arena? Thats fine. Some dick instantly assassinating anyone else who gets to the level of master and basically trapping everyone just before end game fun? Thats dickish and will end with that guy naked in a pit of tentacle demons for the enjoyment of all.

I'm betting on him going down in the 3rd round. He can probably beat the first (1 on 1 with a random creature) and the second (one on one with an animal man) but the third (a pack of wolves, lions, or similar animals) seems like it may be his down fall.

Well, he'll probably have some armor by then, from the first two fights, but yeah, that may be where he falls.

Glad to hear about boots and gauntlets coming in pairs. That gives me fifty extra gold.

I'll wait til we get new prices. When the new version is out. :D

The more I think about it the more it seems I'll need to do individual pricing on some of this stuff. A Brestplate and a boot should not cost the same. I think weapons can remain equal price, since none of them really have an advantage over each other except in certain situation against certain enemies.

The Qualifying rounds will be, in order

Round 1: random mundane creature
Round 2: random animal man (unarmored but may be lightly armed)
Round 3: Small pack of mundane animals, may be all the same or a mix
Round 4: armed animal man
Round 5: armed animal man and several animals
Round 6: several armed animal men
Round 7: fully armed and armored animal man
Round 8: Fully armed and armored animal man and animals
Round 9: Several armed and armored animal men
Round 10: Round boss

These are all subject to change depending on difficulty balancing and game limitations.

Lizardman
Masterwork Iron short sword - 150 gold
NO armour at all, and only a trousers.

lvl 6 wrestling (Or the evading equivalent that's coming up) - 420 gold
lvl 6 swordfighting - 420 gold

I'll have 30 gold left.

Will you allow us to name our weapons if we manage to win a few battles?
Are we allowed to bet on ourselves?
Will we be allowed to fight in a type 6 round, for example, when we're master again?

Human

Adamantine chestplate - 150
Adamantine greaves - 150
Masterful Iron helmet - 35
Superior quality Iron boots - 21

Adamantine spear - 500

Level 2 Spear - 140

Leftover gold - 4

Anyone feel like commenting on my setup? The first thing I'll be spending on is more weapon skill, and I'm considering swapping to sword instead of spear. Or something exotic but reliable, like a halberd.

The only thing I can comment on your setup is that you're using heavy armor without any skill to use it.
