Rules are simple, try to follow the storyline and don't do silly actions.
You may remember, there was a show where you could see guy's "identities" as characters living in a room which supposed to be his head and making decisions.
So, you are the thoughts of Jack (by the way, we can change the name if there're many notes).
I am the consciousness of Jack.
You suggest what you want, I use your suggestions as thoughts and act considering them.
The psychological status of Jack will allow him to be able to stay reasonable, or to succumb to silly or dangerous suggestions.

Some background info you didn't forget and you may want to know

Jack lives in Russia, in St.-Peleburg. His father is an american diplomat who works in USA embassy, but now he's abroad due to some work. His mother is Olga, she's caucasian and works in a public library. Now she's in Finland on a business trip.

Jack studies in Saint-Petersburg State Polytechnical University, on a radiophysics faculty. He's in on the thrid course.

It's march and he has some holidays due to the 8th march (women's day). It's 6th of march, 2010, and it's Saturday.

Prologue

Mental status: Uncertain.

You are in your room. It seems like there was a flash of light outside which temporary distracted you and stopped your thinking, so you look around and start to get what's going on.

You stand near your bed, and you see your girlfriend Anna at the door. She looks angry. Also you cannot avoid a thought that she's hot in her pink top and white skirt.


"Hey, dear, what's up, I... I am sure there's no reason to..."

Anna interrupts you:
"What's going on with you, Jack?!" - She is almost screaming. - "At first that party and Dorothy, now this birthday! I saw the photos! You, you..."

She cries and retreats from your room, leaving the door open. You hear her running through the lobby, then her heels clattering the stairs, then finally a loud BANG! of a slammed outer door. Then everything is quiet.

You feel some strange emptiness inside. Meanwhile your head feels very heavy. There're screams and shouts which come through the window from outside.

Mental status: Confused.

You decide to look around first. Your mind state is really confusing you. You can swear that you almost heard a weird voice in your head "HUMAN. LISTEN TO ME."

You shake your head and make a quick tour around your room.

The cabinet is quite tall, almost as tall as the ceiling, and when you open it you see a heap of clothes. Well, it looks like you don't like to carefully put your things in the cabinet, and you simply huddle them inside. You look in a mirror on the inner side of the cabinet's door, and you see yourself.

Mental state: cool-headed

You wear a green T-Shirt, blue jeans and leather snickers.
Meanwhile you check your jeans' pockets and you see a lighter, a creasy piece of paper and a broken pencil.

You look on your table and you see your unfinished work, some excercises for the university. The letters on a workbook say "Jack Fadlen". Right, that's you. You also notice a pen near the workbook. It's quite intricate, and it has "star trek" words on it. Actually, it's shaped like a rocket. You suddenly remember that it was a gift from Anna on st. Valentine's day. You were Star Trek nerds, right. That's why there's a huge poster with a dish-shaped spaceship on your wall.

You don't make yourself to come up to a chest in the corner. You remember that it's full of Compact Disks with various games and old programs. You've got yourself a nice internet connection and now you download everything from the Web, but you couldn't make yourself to throw away the disks you loved so much. Also you couldn't find a key from the chest. You locked it because you had some videos with naked women on discs there and you didn't want your mom to find it out.

Right, your mom... She left to Finland this weekend, she was going to return in a few days. You're on your own.

Some annoying voices appeared in your head again. They became louder and louder. You shaked your head and started to whistle a "terminator" theme. It distracted you enough to ignore them.

Your stomach made a grumbling noise.

You decide to go outside and get flowers for Anna as soon as possible, but then you remember that you don't have money on you.

You exit your room and enter a living room.

You look around. There's your PC in the corner. Another door to the north leads to your mom's room. It's closed. You remember that the long cabinet along a southern wall has a bar/safe compartment where you store your documents and money.

You open the cabinet and take some money to buy some flowers. You take 300 roubles... Then you take the remaining 500. Mom is going to be pissed off when she returns, but you want to make sure that Anna forgives you for what you've done (if only you could remember what it was).
You browse different cards, but there's no appropriate one. There're a few "happy birthday" and "happy 8th March day" cards. Finally you find and take one which says "congratulations", because it's the only card which is unrelated to any specific holiday.

Mental state: Content, a bit lonely.

You notice that it's quite dark in the room. The carpet on the floor looks dark blue, and green wallpapers look gloomy. It's definitely evening outside, and all the lights in the house are out.

Also you notice that children's laugh and cries from the street disappeared. It's really quiet outside. You hear a sound of a car driving by in the distance, and then it's quiet again.

You don't like the "generic" view of the card, and "congratulations" do not suit the situation at all. "Congratulations, sorry for everything". Sounds silly. Still there's no visible piece of paper on your PC table you could turn into a card right now, so you keep the card in your hand.

You open the door to a Mom's room. It's dark inside, you hardly recognize the furniture. There's a table with a tv on the right, and there's a big bed on the left. A dim light comes through a glass door which leads to the balcony.

You start to feel nervous. There's a quiet screech coming from the south, from the staircase, like a sound which appears when a rusty door opens.

You walk south, moving to the lobby. You put your money and a card in your pockets and remove your shoe, carrying it in your hand, ready to smack anyone who may be there, in the dark (although you know that it's just your imagination; you always imagine slimy beings in your bathrooms and killers in your cabinet when you watch horror movies).

Ouch!

You step on a pin. You pull the pin out of your foot. You feel a bit angry at yourself for walking barefoot and stepping on a pin. You continue to walk south, but this time much slower. You don't want to step on anything again, so it greatly reduces your walking speed. Also feels uncomfortable.

You remember that the first door leads to a kitchen, the second to a toilet and the third to a dining room.

Also you gather your brawery and decide that if someone is sneaking on a staircase, you will loudly greet him to confuse and to solve a probably stupid situation.

Also you notice your backpack lying on a floor, with some classbooks sticking out of it. Probably Anna shoved it on a floor from a shoe shelf when she left.

You wear your sneaker. You pick up a book and light a lighter. The book title says "Oval Portrait".

You take out a crumpled paper and look at it. There's a strange picture on it (and letters "E.S.").

Probably you drew it during one of your classes.

You stare in a dark doorway leading to the stairs, it's completely black there and you see nothing.
You turn on the switch on the wall to your left. Then again. Then again. Damn it, no electricity...
You return to the cabinet in the dining room and take out two long church candles your mother stored there. The lighter starts to burn your finger and you have to stop buring the gas. It seems much darker now, after your eyes have adapted to the bright light coming from the fire.

It's rather uncomfortable, with a book under your arm, with your pockets full of stuff and with your both arms busy.

You try to remember why Anna was angry. She said something about party and...

Suddenly you hear that something falls on the floor, the sound probably comes from a kitchen, although it's hard to determine due to walls.

You put the mysterious piece of paper, the book (you notice "Edgar Allan Poe" written on it before you drop it, which brings back memories of reading this book along with another one by H.P. Lovecraft during your physics classes) and the card in the cabinet. You light up a candle but then you think that it's not a good idea to carry a bright candle if there's a burglar. You damp down the candle and blink a few times, letting your eyes to adapt to the environment. It looks like it's not that dark at all if you don't look at a source of light.

You look around but you cannot find anything you could use as a weapon. You slowly walk to the kitchen. You notice that the kitchen door is slightly opened.

You carefully open the door and proceed to the kitchen.

As you enter it, you see a pair of yellow eyes staring at you from a kitchen table.

You shoo the cat and it runs out through the kitchen door. You didn't see if it headed outside or in your living room. You don't want some cat pee on your carpet, but you don't know how are you going to find it a black cat in a dark room...

The fridge switches on and starts to flicker with its indicator lights. It looks like the electricity is back on.

You hear as someone goes down the stairs and shuts the door from the stairs to the street. Is it a good thing to leave the front door opened for such a long time?

Also you remember that your primary intention was to go out and buy some flowers for Anna, and you probably have to get a plastic bag or a backpack with you. Also you notice that the falling sound was produced by a kitchen knife. Probably the cat sneaked from the stairs when the door was opened and shoved the knife on the floor when it jumped on your kitchen table.

You take a knife, looking at an electronic clock on the wall. It shows "21:44". then you return to lobby and pick up your backpack. You remember the strange paper and retrieve it from a cabinet. You try hard but cannot remember why did you draw it. It reminds you of some book or some game, but you don't remember anything further.

On your way outside you look in the fridge, but there's almost nothing edible. You forgot to go to a shop to buy something... You grab a can of pepsi and a bag of chips "Lays", and put them in your backpack.

You take your keys and head outside, locking the front door. You don't see a cat anywhere, so probably it ran out. But maybe it's hiding somewhere in your flat. You descend the stairs to the first floor and walk in the street. Your flat is on the second floor.

You strain your memory and remember the surroundings. A flower stall is not far away. Anna lives across the road.

Two lamplights illuminate a footway.

You notice a man in jeans and t-shirt looking at you from a shadow of a tree, then he steps around the corner and you don't see him anymore.

The man you've seen makes you to feel strange. You get some uncomfortable feeling when you try to remember how he looked. Overcoming your reluctance, you speed up and walk around the corner. You don't see anyone there, although you noticed some strange movement in the air the moment you turned your head. Like an air was moving or steam cloud was dissolving.

But now there's nothing, just an empty street. Probably the strange guy turned around the next corner of your house. You shrug and go to the street to finally buy flowers. Too many things distract you from your main goal. Probably it has something to do with your partial loss of memory.

You stand in front of a flower stall. It's a small construction, with glass walls and a glass door which is opened. There's a woman vendor inside (W), and she smiles at you. An ambulance drives by, with sirens turned on.

You buy some red roses, you remember Anna loves them. Ouch, 150 roubles per rose... You buy 5, it leaves you with 50. You can barely take two bus trips now... Oh well, at least you have flowers and Anna lives across the road.

When you leave a stall, a man in a suit comes up to you. His suit looks expensive, and he has fashionable shoes. But his eyes look a bit crazy. He talks to you in a nervous voice. "Hello, buddy! I am just from a bar, and I cannot buy my girl a drink because I've lost my vallet. Can you help me a bit? Look, I have a fine leather belt, you can get it for cheap! Just any money you can spare, please."

Then he looks at the glass wall of the stall, and his face becomes deadly white. He opens his eyes in terror and almost screams. Then he looks at you and tries to smile, however he barely manages to make a grin. Then he looks away and asks you again. "My gal needs a drink, please buy it, buddy!"

You look at the window but you see only a reflection of both of you, nothing strange there.

P.S. Let me tell you that it is going to be a gloomy story, maybe a bit bloody, so if you don't like thrillers or horrors you may skip it for your own good. Also let me tell you that I don't have experience in storytelling in english, so forgive me my possible faults here and there and try to help me. I am with you. Thank you

Mind if I just post your findings without updating the picture? Because I've planned your room and I can do it quite quickly, but the drawing takes some time (I have to redraw everything because I don't know how to load pictures in ASCII draw) and there's nothing new to draw yet.
