3 cats, same family, 3 separate generations. Earlier (as in years ago) we had repeat/redundant catsplosions. Only the few males remain.
That, and a mini-dachshund.
Surprisingly, all the animals love me, but are really spiteful to everyone else. Maybe it's because I usually remember to feed and hang out with them once in awhile?
All the animals in the house are rather strange and incredibly intelligent. For example, each one knows which one is being called by name, and even respond to their call; for example, I say hi to one of them, and they meow in response. And other times, they find some bizarre ways of getting things done. Hell, one of them even knows how to open doors, and one other knows enough of the human tongue to scream out invaders intimidating them with what sounds like yodeling, but you can hear some sort of grammatical structure behind it. In other words: Intelligence (with vocals) = f***ing scary to invading animals. I think one time, with the same cat trapped in my room while I'm still half-asleep, I hear them yelling to me "Hello?" in the sense that they really want out (which, in turn, is actually what they wanted). I think we also tried disposing one of the families (including one of the 3 cats I listed) a very far distance from the house in a pretty isolated part of town (at least half the town's distance away). One week later, all of the kittens and the lead cat/father, all return, not a scratch on them, not one of them starving, all of them sane/non-feral, and not a single one missing. That's damn impressive.
Now all I need is for them to be able to start fires and craft tools/weapons and we're set. Unfortunately, they're some of the laziest animals on the face of the Earth. Spiders attack, and they're nonchalant about it; they don't even bother playing around with them like they used to. Let's not forget, at times we're lacking in the proper food, sometimes the cats eat dog food, and vice-versa. Depending on what we have in supply.
Seriously, I have some really strange cats. Hell, even with the cats and a dog living in the same house, sometimes they exchange mannerisms. Sometimes the cats act like dogs in their social behavior, and the dog becomes as lazy as the cats and such. It's like they're their own social circle and they exchange their knowledge to scary levels. I think the concept of animals lacking souls or something along those lines is total BS. I can sense when my cats are really disappointed in me when I forget to restock their food supply. They even get in the way more often whenever I do so, mostly out of spite for my forgetting.
If I were to tag each one with a personality trait, I would have to say: Oldest = Veteran, jaded personality, Alpha-cat; Middle-generation = Casanova/Explorer (he practically flirts with everybody, and uses his panther look as intimidation, despite being cat-sized); and Youngest Generation = Spoiled child, lazy, sponge of the pack, minor-charmer, uses his mouselike stature to swoon people, and then swats at them, maybe bipolar. And as for the dog, let's just say that she's a bitch by both means, gender and personality. Energetic, yet surprisingly lazy. I think I see a trend here.
