Scotland, then.

Also, I'm very aware.  It's hard not to be when there's a guy in neon spandex riding his bike in front of you.

I've arranged questionable driving maneuvers before because cyclists in my city are fucktards. We have cyclist lanes, but it is still legal for the cyclists to bike in the road. Instead of using the nice lane that they bitched at the government for for years, they still bike in the road. In rows. They will block every fucking lane, going maybe 12 mph, while traffic piles up behind them.

It must be a big problem in America then. In the UK we have a fairly friendly attitude towards bikers.

If you've ever been on a busy road in a bike its pretty harrowing. Your on a tiny frame using your own steam to get from A to B while theres cars twice as big as you and about 10 times as heavy trying to overtake you with next to no consideration. You've got bus drivers who only care about getting to the next stop before the cyclist passes them. You've got truck drivers who NEVER see you.

Actually, I find truck drivers are the ones that do the best, probably because they have to know the rules of the road damn well for their job. It's just that trucks are huge and sound much more scary coming up behind you, but generally the drivers don't buzz you like other jackasses do.

Really though, the only time there should be problems between bikers and cagers...uhh, drivers, are on one-lane roads, with no bike lane, where the bikers can't take a lane. Drivers that get pissed about cyclists taking a lane of a multiple-lane road need to go back and redo the knowledge part of their license test.

Also, in downtown traffic, bikes are invariably as fast or faster than cars, which is why I find it hilarious that drivers bitch about city-center biking.

Anyway, it's not like idiots and jackasses have a monopoly on biking or driving. At least 50% of road users are dumb as hell no matter if they're on two feet, two wheels or four wheels

The problem with bikers on multi-lane roads is they always seem to be in the really twisty foresty bridge-and-railroad-track-infested area near where I live.  There's no way to pass them without risking someone coming around the corner and killing you.

Being stereotyped as a gamer that spends 100% of his life playing nothing but games and nothing else. No social life, not working on art, or any of the sort. There is something called a job that gets in my way you know.

I'm actually trying to make plans for my life and predict when I can get the best income and all sorts of things, as well as trying to time things so I can freelance some design work while working at the store, so I can pull in a slightly larger income than I usually do. Much harder than it sounds. Plus, I have literally thousands of games on my machine, and I barely touch them, for what it's worth (plus, I've been playing DF more anyway).

And another pet peeve of mine is when something is no longer mine (by ownership) due to priority or use. Example: My car. My car is mine by ownership and everything, but recently (actually, for the past 6 months), since it's one of the only working cars in my household, my sister has pretty much turned it into hers (even if I need it to go to work, she wouldn't even let me use it to get there, even if her time to use it is an hour after I return home). The thing is not mechanically maintained, nor kept clean; the thing is practically a pack mule; and I use it 4 times a month if I'm lucky, and I'm still making majority payments on it (insurance, registration, gas) regardless if I address it or not. The only reason I'm not maintaining it is because it's "no longer" mine. Not my fault if it breaks down. Just about everything else in it turned into total crap; I actually am willing to completely disown my car; it's that bad off.

And one last one for the moment, since I noticed. Noticing my own redundant speech patterns.

My parents traded my car for lawnmower repairs.  In their defense I wasn't really using it much and it was a 90 Escort and one of the doors didn't work, so it may or may not have been a deathtrap, but still.  Not cool.

Lawnmower repairs?  The fuck, was it a hovercraft mover or something?  How could a car possibly be worth more than scrapping or jury-rigging the lawnmower?

Oh and Itnetlolor, be prepared for your sister to come bitching to you about having to fix your car the first time something goes wrong while she's driving it.  We've all been there dude, and the real ownership will come back in to play, when it really counts.

Reminds of a pet peeve that I've created entirely for myself.  When people, especially my parents, call my vehicle a truck, or refer to it with the pronoun "she".  It's not a "she" or a "truck" goddammit.  Although it rides like the later and treats me like the former.

It's a pretty fancy lawnmower, yeah, but we really needed it fixed and we got the car cheap.

It's a Simpsons reference.  Google it, I don't care.

I looked back and noticed that it was a 1990 Escort.  Yeah, the guy who repaired your lawnmower got ripped off.

Like a lawnmower, there's a strong smell of gas when you start it up.

She has a few times; but I kept reminding anyone who testifies against me that she uses the car far more than I do, and it's her responsibility to keep it working. We already lost the radio some time ago when she, or my other sister (or their friends) ended up getting soda all inside it. I could only crack the small operation panel open and I found all sorts of evidence of soda in different crevices, especially on the main unit in the car (which I am uncertain about removing and seeing inside), there was plenty of residue from a soda most likely. The small panel was a simple cleaning, but the main unit, I'm not touching that.

I'd be much more worried about, say, fluids.  Does she know how to check/add the oil or coolant?  Would she if she does?  Do you?

If there's a trend to follow, I've noticed that in cars people don't give a damn about, if overheating doesn't render the car inoperable from lack of basic maintenance, it's usually the transmission that gives out first, of the major parts.
