There's flamethrowers. If free speech is arch-conservative, fire fighters will attack places that have priting presses and people writing for the Liberal Guardian with them. And there are molotovs that cause fires.

Bunker Gear can protect against fire damage, which is very rare in the game. However, as Spartan 117 noted, Free Speech isn't Arch-Conservative; the odds of it being C+ again this game are extremely small, considering how successful I've been at swaying the public. Consequently, flamethrowers are out of the question, and I've never seen a Conservative use a molotov. Truth be told, I haven't even USED a molotov since 3.18, so I don't even know how different they are now - if they even are. I'd need to call upon the expertise of frequent viewer jasonred79, who is quick to correct me on my errors.

At any rate, I am amused to have checked my topic and seen four new posts; I am pleased that you think the work's nice, Diablous. I've had a very busy day, but I'll see what I can do in terms of recording LCS material tonight. Might be only one video, but, depending on my mood, you could see as much as three new ones. Narrative, of course, will be delayed for another day or two after that considering how much effort it requires to write.

I HATE fire in LCS. It seems that bunker gear doesn't STOP fire damage, it just reduces it somewhat.
The only conservatives that use molotovs are probably the CCS... which will not appear in this LP either. (I'm not sure whether normal Hicks and Yokels can use Molotovs. Also, they use Torch's which may logically be fire damage but not cause fires?)
I haven't played 3.18, so dunno what the differences would be. Molotovs now are a kamikaze suicide weapon only, since it's near impossible to damage your opponents without damaging yourself, and you can't cause fires ADJACENT to you, only in your own tile, so again you can't seem to cause arson without damaging yourself.

Considering your words, I am thoroughly convinced I will never be using molotovs again. I will also likely never wear Bunker Gear again unless it is for teh lulz. Thanks for the input, though, Chief; I knew I could rely on you to provide my topic with the goods!

No problem. I rarely actually use my founder in the field, so it is interesting to see what it is like. And the narrative is very good. Grimith's death seemed to happen at the perfect time. Then I noticed that your still in 2009! I like what I see, and expect more.

Your founder actually receives 1/4 damage, so he's VERY useful in the field. Give him 1000 juice,  20 health, some Heavy Body Armor from a Hardened Veteran, and he's near immortal.

I know, but she is the backbone of my entire organization! If she dies, all my legal fundraising goes, plenty of sleepers are gone, the whole thing could fall apart with her death! I keep her stashed away, doing nothing illegal. Besides, I have three squadrons of juiced up foot soldiers. Well had. Stupid CIA.

If you're going to use your founder as Liberalism Vengeance Personified, it is best to pick a second command and have her in charge of managing the sleepers and overseeing most of your Liberal forces. Otherwise, as you described (and as you've seen in this LGWI topic), the whole pyramid collapses.

Admittedly, when you've progressed so far along into the game that you've developed a power base, as I did, and your sole LCS member - the new founder - is a stat powerhouse, like Kurt is, then you haven't really lost much of anything. Even if I had lost eighty Liberals, as long as I had Kurt, I could have salvaged the situation. I mean, worst-case, even if I had lost all of my equipment and issues progress, I'd be back at Square One, since you can't get worse gameplay than all C+ laws short of losing the game, right?

Still, I don't like losing my founder, since I see him as my in-game personal avatar. Yet I roll bones against the Random Number God in spite of the consequences. When there's more to lose, the game is more... uh... "fun." Yes. Fun. As a matter-of-fact, I think that's why I'm having so much "fun" with Star Zoo now; there's so much to lose while playing it!

@founder use: I like to think of my founders as staying in the shadows, giving orders, planning, plotting, knowing that the only ones who would be in danger and capable of ratting her out are too loyal. In fact she had hippies and musicians under her making money, and the three squads who go into the field, and only the very heart-filled and juiced up leader of those squads could identify her. Then I destroyed the CCS, disbanded after the entire SC was E-L, president was E-L, and so was most of congress and won. Now I'm doing nightmare mode.

Diablous: Well, since you really want to, okay... But you can't renege out of the arrangement now.

Everyone: I'll probably have a narrative of this up sometime this weekend, more likely Saturday than Sunday. I'm also trying something new: I won't upload any of these videos to Dailymotion unless someone requests - with explanation - why they want me to do so. YouTube's quality-upgrade-thingy-doodad-device allows for videos uploaded in higher quality to be watched in higher quality, so reading the text in the game is not an issue. I'm seeing if I can cut Dailymotion out of the update loop altogether and focus on YouTube, so, if there's anyone lurking who has a strong anti-YouTube stance, now's your time to speak.

grimith your dailymotion videos are not playing most of the time, and when it does, it spends a LONG time buffering.

But I wanted to ask the folks who view this thread first, to see if anyone loves Dailymotion and wouldn't want to part with me uploading my videos there.

Consequently, I suppose I'm going to end up transferring the first sixteen videos to YouTube. Good thing I kept those so I can reupload them. Hope YouTube doesn't go to hell in a handbasket after I commit, though! What, then, would I do? Viddler? Veoh? Nothing!? Such pressure.

jasonred79: The stats of your avatar were as amazing as his exit from the LCS world. I had definitely planned on running away during the chase because I expected more DS Officers after dwelling at the Latte Stand for so long. When I only encountered the one, though, I knew I had to try. And the result was hilarious. Wouldn't want it changed for any other. I can imagine a mockery of the DS right now... looking at your avatar, cocking his head, and saying, "Wtf is this shit!?" before blowing away the Liberal's leg. And then the Liberal still tries to escape. Despite his one-leggedness. Once you get past all the death and gore, it's an awesome image.

Or maybe I'm just a sadist. One of the two, really.
