Brewers?
« on: March 04, 2010, 09:32:51 pm »

Anyone out there a brewer? I'm fermenting my third batch of beer right now, and the ingredients for the fourth are on the way.

No mushrooms plx.

You are no true dwarf.

"No mushrooms" indeed. Go downtown. Turn in your beard.

I keep talking about how I want to make my own mead. I do, I just never remember about it for more than 4 minutes at a time.

A friend of mine from college was home brewing for a while and may still be. It took 2 weeks from the beginning of the process till the beer was ready to drink. The product was quite good, at least the few batches I tasted. It cost about 50 bucks for the materials to make a batch of about 50 bottles, and he could have easily made a profit but just sold the bottles for $1 each to recoup his spending.

I've had good mead I liked and mead I hated. Mead is sort of a love-hate drink for a lot of people.

Yeah my main goal is to make really good beer for really cheap. That's why at this point I'm doing extract brews. I'll probably move on to partial-mash recipes in the nearish future, but the economic outlook is shakey.

My dad does.  Someone picked up a few jugs of mead just the other day.

Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.
Just so I remember
