Another idea: Make it slightly more realistic, instead of having two teams you start with a single creture, and everyone can start their own branch thread and start evolving it in a divergent direction, so you get many different creatures with varying degrees of similarity with a comon ancestor all competing against each other.

OK, now it's time to ask.

How is "competing" determined in such "games"? I see some fun with cool pics, but I see no rules. THE GAME MUST HAVE RULES!

Rules for team one: Make a creature that is adapted for fighting creature #2

Rules for team two: Make a creature adapted for fighting creature #1

Other rules: Great artists, please wait until the creature has evolved sufficiently before pimping it out. Not everyone can use programs more advanced than Paint.

I can, but I choose not to.

makes the final product a little more meaningful.

what he means is not everyone has access to a tablet or scanner. I, being a broke ass college student, have a laptop with a touch-pad mouse and am usually upside down while using it. makes it very difficult :D

Touch-pad is an awesome drawing tool.

MS Paint is too easy and automated.

I just scream ones and zeroes into an Ethernet cable.

If that doesn't work, I release a butterfly that beats its wings once, causing a disturbance in the upper atmosphere that deflects light from the moon slightly, a single photon alighting on my hard drive where it flips a bit from zero ... to one.
