I think ultimately individuals would be more fun as long as people are OK with the potential for backstabbing.  I have nothing invested in the character right now, and we can always form a team later.

That may be possible -- note setting Tone:
Sinister Conspiracies
The Roanoke Colony is brimming with dark conspiracies. Betrayals and double-crosses are par for the course. Your characters should never be sure who they can trust. This element of subtle paranoia can really help to improve the unsettling atmosphere of the game.

Indeed! And why I have no problem with it. Suspecting each other is par for the course, and you better believe it will happen. Not all of you will get all the information, and you cannot act on information your characters don't have even if you, as a player, know it.

I may even offer some foreshadowing where I narrate a bit of the villain's actions to give you a hint what you're up against. Again, you can't act ingame on this information. Its to set the atmosphere.

This is why there's an incentive for getting the whole team out alive... its not easy at all. Oh and I'm adding an incentive... complete your team's major goal is worth another -1 Doom counter next game.

I imagine that if any of us backstab someone in a sloppy method, the victim could potentially burn up enough fate to doom the survivors. Food for thought.

Wait, I have a concern. what if my d00d who cannot fire a gun (hypothetically) tries to shoot one? what about skills that your dude doesn't have but can still feasibly do?

In the rules on traits.
If your character needs to roll for something that doesn't fall under one of his or her traits, he is assumed to have a rating of 2 for the roll.
So you have a rank of 2 for firing a gun if have no trait which covers it. You get a success on any roll of 1 or 2 on a d6.

Thats why traits start at 3. Having a trait at 2 would be useless, as its the same as unskilled. The only time you have a trait rating of 1 is when you're confronted with your fear.

I fell asleep...
Bounty hunters it is, though, for the concept. I know you've agreed on that, but I want to have voted too.

Every vote counts, but I believe we had a majority already. Any thoughts on your character?

You don't have to be quite so specific. You could simply go with "Cyberspace Hack-fu" as a level 5 trait and pick a new level 3.
Name: Jedidiah Jones
Looks good!

I'm in no hurry.

Also I expect to have a few gameplay examples up soon so you guys can have an idea how some of these rules work. I've found examples are very useful for reference.
