"Take no chances, if he reprogrammed the ship to take us out he could do the same with a robot."

Jackson takes up a position behind the robot, assuming it doesn't react, lining up his shotgun for the optimal shot to the processor core, and fires a heavy slug.

The slug rips through the robot, scattering pieces of plastic and bits of internal components all over the floor. The upraised hand hesitates for a moment, and then the whole body slumps forward bereft of any instructions.

And then it gets spices poured on it.

(ooc:hahahahahahhahahahahhahahahah)
"...haha..." higan laughs as he finishes pouring spice over it.
"Well i guess its safe now... and would make a great side dish..." higan says as he throws the bags away.

Higan then atempts to remove some of the robot to use as scrap metal, also to get to the inner workings of the robot.

"Hopefully it's not too hard to interrogate a dead robot."

Jackson continues searching the kitchen.  If there are knives or anything weapon-like, grab them.  I don't like unattended weapons on ghost ships.

The robot doesn't resist, though you quickly determine that it is a relatively stupid model made only to clean or perform other simple jobs.

You do notice something strange when you open it up, the robot has an active uplink installed which wasn't part of its original design. It's an ugly little module grafted onto the main board which looks like it was put together from spares or components from other systems. The uplink is still active, as it is still attached to the robot's power supply. It has a small steady red light on it.

Unfortunately the robot's memory storage is completely wrecked, fried by a short when the bullet crashed through its body.

search for exits to other parts of the ship. Also, see if there are any emergency rations. Something's telling me that we'll be here a while.

Miria sighs at the wanton destruction of the robot, while Marcus ignores is and just continues searching.

The galley holds no easily-prepared meals nor rations, it looks like whoever ransacked the place took those. If you felt like cooking you could spend half an hour to make a decent meal though as there remain raw meats and other foodstuffs in deep freeze or otherwise preserved.

Exits from the mess hall lead to hallways lined with doors, each with a number. They look like crew quarters, and there are hundreds of them. All of them are locked with a keycard access reader next to the door.

No problem, this game can be paced however you guys want. There's nothing to be gained by rushing, and everything to lose.  ;D

Crew quarters or passenger quarters?

Also, you know what we need to do?  Go to engineering and knock out the artificial gravity.  Hypothetical cryo-zombies probably don't work well in zero G environments.

"Can anyone work some techno-magic on the doodad from the robot and see what we can learn from it?  Also consider that it may be a bug, don't speak near it unless you have to."

I think this is a good stopping point to call it a night.  I think the team should hole up in the kitchen and make some stir-fry.

Probably interchangable between crew and passenger quarters. You'd know (or be able to consult your ship) that long-voyage cryostasis isn't feasible so large ships like this rotate passengers in and out of cryo every 6-8 months to avoid health problems. That means they do need somewhere to stay when not frozen. Only about 250 colonists would be awake at any one time though, according to standard corporate procedure. Cuts down on food/air consumption.

Alright. For the other team:

You have docked in the cargo bay but wisely remained inside your ship for a few minutes longer than the others. In that time, they managed to wreck the place and blow out all of the air. You witnessed everything which went on in the cargo hold but you do not know anything which happened to them after they ascended the lift. Your ship was unharmed by the chaos, but you cannot go out into the hold without suits and the lift is currently on the wrong side of a pressure door.

What you do now is up to you.
