I'm intrigued, but a little apprehensive about playing a five-year-old outdated version because this game was apparently created to reach the smallest number of people possible.  Anyone care to mention what the later versions add to the game?

Well, this game is pretty fun.

But what is the point of restraining robots and stuff the restraining bolt?

Restraining bolt makes them your pet.

And for some reason a can't kill something called creeping credits. Damn thing stole 461 buckazoids.
Hrm. It dropped helluva lot of money and an optimized disc of spam.

And the centurion I restrained just hits stuff while not using it's laser pistol.

I'm the ZAPM author - it's exciting to find this thread about my game!  Zorgn, I love that killer tomato story :-)

I do plan a Windows port, I just need to get my hands on a PC first.  I'm pretty busy this month, but hope to have time to put it out in April, so hang in there.  In the meantime, here's a link to my changelog for the new version: http://zapm.org/bb/viewtopic.php?p=41#p41

I'm fighting 40 tribbles or something, and they multiply faster than I can kill.

Then I noticed extra tribbles appeared.
Now this happened.

If you have decent defense and the Optic Blast Mutant Power you can get Level 6 before leaving the second floor.

I know this because I've done it.

Your optic blast will kill at least 3 tribbles in a line each time it successfully fires, so you just need to be able to pewpew them each time they grow too much so you can avoid being overwhelmed. Also, they can't open doors, so if the stairs down are in a dead end or can be turned into a floodgate, you can literally level yourself infinitely, opening the door to pewpew them then closing it to regenerate your Cha. Just make sure not to kill them all. Telepathy (another great Mutation) helps.
