Update is on its way at some point in the next few hours.  I may do a few turns at a time so this isn't excruciatingly slow.

How many turns do we want to do per update?

As many as needed. Seriously. Sometimes there will be exciting points where lots of decisions need to be made. Others, you can go for turns without anything interesting at all happening.

Alright, but if we're going a bunch of turns at a time I'll need detailed instructions of what your guys want to have done.

I, as the Heir Presumptuous, or something, shall take the rebel settlement for the glory of Venice! Sack it too, although that won't get us much for a rebel settlement. And then start to build some economic buildings (dock, roads, market, and you can figure it out from there) and retrain my troops if possible. Also set taxes as high as they can go before your rating drops below 100%. Then, when a governor comes along to take control, I'll move my men close to the Byzantine border, because I have this feeling...

That or back Milan-wards. Whichever you want.

You could, you know, just take people's requests as helpful suggestions instead of instructions.  Trust me, waiting around for these nincompoops to analyze, or read, your posts and then make useful commands of their many many units will drive you to suicide.  Or at least to throwing people you don't like into suicide.

State of the Union:

Our navy consists of 200 galleys.  Half of them are stationed at Venice, the other half at Iraklion.

The Pope likes most of the nations, feeling no ill will against them.  However, he feels neither ill will or good toward us, and has found the faith of the Holy Roman Empire wanting.  If this continues, they might be excommunicated, giving us a blank check for some conquering.

Turn 1:  Spring of 1080

A spy is killed attempting to infiltrate the rebel town of Zagreb.  Shortly thereafter Councillor Bartolomeo's army arrives and prepares to invade.

Alessandro Selvo sends a unit of Spear Militia to aid the Councillor, but it won't arrive until the winter at earliest.  The assault is postponed until it arrives.

Alessandro begins training another unit of spear militia, as well as mailed knights and mounted sergeants.

A merchant sets out to begin trading gold in rebel territory near Ragusa.  We should probably take that province and construct gold mines in the near future.

Venice begins paving the road network to improve travel and trade.  Iraklion lowers taxes and clears land for farming, in the hopes of spurring quick growth.

Turn 2:  Winter 1080

Militarily, we are the strongest faction in the world.

The council insists we capture Durazzo, south of Ragusa.

The spear militia will not arrive until spring of 1081.  The assault is further postponed

Alessandro Selvo gains 1 chivalry, for being fair in rule.

The rebels sally forth before reinforcements can arrive.  BATTLE BEGINS!!!

Spoiler: The battle (click to show/hide)

Turn 3, Spring 1021:

Bartolomeo gains both fair in rule and winning first, causing a net dread/chivalry change of zero.  Good for him.

The Holy Roman Empire overtakes us militarily.

Trade is established with Sicily, and maps are exchanged.

A large force of brigands appears near Venice, and Bartolomeo mobilizes to stop them before they interfere with trade.

The cavalry recruited in Iraklion move to reinforce.

Oliverio Giusti, Venice's Cardinal, denounces and executes a heretic, increasing his piety and earning him the rank of Bishop Preferati.

Turn 4, Winter 1021:

The papal states are given a gift of 400 gold.  The Pope feels no ill will against us.

Turn 5, Spring 1022

The cavalry reach Councillor Bartolomeo

The brigands leave Venetian territory, moving into the mountains to the north.

The recorder of events notes that things are really boring right now.

That's all for the moment, we'll probably do things in bigger steps in the future.  Not much is going on in the early game, and armies aren't cool enough for really crazy stuff to go down.

Jackrabbit was a little late on his stuff, so things didn't go how he wanted.  We just occupied Zagreb, we didn't sack it.

It's right under your guy's status card in the OP.  Add one unit of spear militia and a unit of mailed knights to that and you're good.

Casualties are minimal, not more than ten guys in any one unit.

Awesome. I guess I'm near the edge of our territory. Unless you have any conquering plans, I'll stay put for now.

By stay put you mean move back to Zagreb (I moved you out to deal with brigands but they left) and stay put there?  Your guy has some good governor traits, so he can handle that too, which is good because he's the heir when Domenico dies.

Until something comes up, move me back. It'd be a good idea to gain management skills before I go out and crack some skulls.

I love that map.  Anyway, might I suggest someone go conquer Florence?  It's a good territory to have.

Can't wait until there's an adoption to name myself after.

My city will be concentrating on building our navy.

My garrison stays put for now.

Unless he receives orders from Venice to the contrary my guy too is content to immerse himself in city expansion projects to promote growth.
