Yes, indeed. I'm doing a let's play of Medieval 2: Total War.
If you didn't know, Medieval 2 is a grand strategy/RTS game set in ye olden Medieval Tymes. You take control of one of many factions and fight and diplomatacize to control all of Europe and a bit of Africa/Asia. There's a turn-based main map mode, where you move guys around on a big map of Europe and build up your forces while interacting with other nations, and a real-time battle mode where you control said forces. The main battles do require a decent grasp of tactics, you can't just push everyone forward into the bad guy and expect to win, but they're not prohibitively difficult once you get the hang of things.
We will be leading Venice to victory, and as Venice is a pretty scattered nation I won't post a bunch of high-res screenshots. Instead I've procured a map of the Euro-Afro-Asio area and will mark stuff on it. Once things are going we can draw lines and arrows to show enemy advances and stuff and be real armchair generals.
Our capital is Venice, the northernmost red dot. It's ruled by Doge Domenico. The red line to the east of Venice is the army of Councillor Bartolomeo, heir to the throne of Venice. Halfway down the eastern coast of the Adriatic is Castle Ragusa, ruled by Alessandro Selvo. Our third town is Iraklion on the island of Crete, ruled by Cristiano Selvo, but enough about us...
Just to our west is Bologna, owned by the Holy Roman Empire, and home to the Emperor, Heinrich the Chivalrous. As can be imagined, it's heavily defended. Just to the southwest of that is Florence, controlled by the rebels and holding a relatively small garrison of unknown composition.
To the east is Zagreb, a rebel village and a likely first target. No walls and a small garrison of archer militia and Croatian axemen mean it will fall quickly.
We have the Holy Roman Empire to the north and Milan somewhere to the west. Our cities are far apart and we will need to move quickly to secure the territory between them so we don't have anywhere years from support in the event of a siege.
How will we do it?
GENERALS:
If you want full details on what your town can build, ask. Otherwise, just tell me what you want to accomplish and I'll work on it.
If you want a general, just say which one you want and it's yours. Once they're full you can apply for the council or a waiting list and you'll get a general when he comes of age.
Do what you think is best with your general but keep in mind I'm not going to savescum if he gets killed because you sent him to do something stupid.
