Hey guys! Seems like you've gotten off to a good start! Is there any more space for players? I've played quite a few fortresses so far with dig deeper. I'll check back shortly. Thanks!

compy: there should be some, we already have up to year 10 booked or something.  The new version of DF will most likely be out by then if you're cool with that

TauQuebb: have you picked up the save yet?

Yeah, I've added you. Nice StrongBad reference, BTW.

Having a legendary Gem Cutter will add value to our crafts quite fast, the thing would be finding more gems.

Because dwarves are goddamned crazy.
So, basically, it is just a matter of luck whether you live or suffer horrible death... sounds like dwarf fortress.

Sweet thanks! I'll be watching and waiting for my turn patiently. I don't mind if the new game is out because it will be awhile before I can do succession forts on that version anyhow. So it's a year turn I take it? Start at spring and end at spring?

Gem cutter wont add to crafts value it will just make better crafts now and then... unless we get a legendary gem setter to match, the gem cutter won't be super useful.

The list is in the first post under a spoiler, as for the save, I guess the end of today would be good. If Tau would just give a heads-up...

Also, thanks for reminding me that about the gems, kinda got them confused for a second. Still, being legendary should probe mighty useful regardless what profession he or she is.

Also, are we using using the pack that was suggested earlier for dig deeper?

Did anyone send a PM to TauQuebb yet?

Yes, we are.

Tau has been inactive since the 10th... I suggest a skip.

Alright, I downloaded the save. I have some school work to do though so you won't be getting any updates today.

Note: these dates aren't accurate. I forgot to write them down.
------------------------------------------------------------------
From the journal of Sir Broccoli
1st of Granite, 203: Well, it looks like Sindain is retiring. Since nobody else is willing to become the leader of this place I've decided to step up as the leader. Can't be that hard, can it?

10th of Granite, 203: It looks like the previous leaders liked digging out big rooms and mass-dump the rocks. As a result nobody was getting any work done. I told everybody to stop screwing around and do some actual work for a change.

11th of Granite, 203: My carpenter's workshop is filled with empty barrels and bins. Several other dwarves have complained about their workshops being filled with furniture and crafts as well, so I told them to store it in one of the big empty rooms that my predecessors have dug out.

20th of Granite, 203: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!

21st of Granite, 203: Let me rephrase that, three groups of orcs have arrived. Since we only have four dwarfs with military training, one of which is bedridden, I raised the drawbridge.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

22nd of Granite, 203: Some numbskull appearantly decided it was a good idea to dig a big, gaping hole in one of our walls and then tell the masons to close it up again.
Unfortunately the masons are a bunch of lazy bums so the hole wasn't being closed. I told the miners to dig a small trench. Not the prettiest solution but at least it keeps the orcs out.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

28th of Granite, 203: Well, the orcs are just sitting there doing nothing. I decided that, since I'm the boss of this place now, I deserve a better room so I told the miners to dig one out for me.

8th of Slate, 203: Elf merchants showed up today. The orcs smashed them to a fine paste:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Maybe the orcs aren't that bad after all...

12th of Slate, 203: These orcs are starting to annoy me. If they don't leave soon I'm going to have to build a overly complicated contraption involving a big trench and magma.
Actually, I think I'll build it no matter what.

-----------------------------------------------------

So I've never played dig deeper before. Will these orcs ever leave by themselves or am going to have to kill them.

Again, dates are not accurate
--------------------------------------

From the journal of Sir Broccoli:

15th of Slate, 203: I started work on the magma trap today:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
While the orcs zigzag around the doors (Which will be built later) will close and magma will seep through fortifications in the walls. When the orcs are dead the magma will pour into a cistern and cool.

17th of Slate, 203: A kid went crazy today:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
He grabbed some wood logs and made:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
'Fondledweights'

I think I need to have a talk with the parents of this kid.

28th of Slate, 203: I'm bored. Nothing interesting is happening! The masons are building doors, the carpenters are building bins, the brewers are making booze, the blacksmith is interrupted by an orc wrestler...
Wait what?!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
How the hell did they get out there!?

1st of Felsite, 203: I appear to have made the exact same mistake that Sindain made. I ordered some hematite to be dug out but failed to notice that it would make a big hole in our wall.
The orcs seem pretty happy about it:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

5th of Felsite, 203: I appear to be dead:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Sure as hell ain't gonna stop me from writing in this journal. The orcs have slaughtered many of us and even our strongest champions can't beat them. I told the miners to dig a trench in one of the rooms so at least they'll be safe. They're REALLY thirsty though so they're gonna get something to drink first.

12th of Felsite, 203:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

------------------------------------------------------

It appears we have all died.
Here is the save:
The next person gets to reclaim a fortress filled to the rim with orcs. Fun!
