The thing is, GRRM has never been the best with putting endings into this series. Well, he's ended a number of things, but I mean in the storytelling sense. Unfortunately, this has only gotten even more cliffhanger-y in the latest books. It's one of his weaknesses as a writer. We all have them. Unfortunately, I'm already hooked, and will keep following the series.

In preparation for the new season to start, here's some fanfic of Jamie Lannister versus Cthulhu.

...written by George R.R. Martin himself.

Oh dear lord, Foxtrot... how much dorkiness can you fit into one comic?

Anyway, apparently my sister went to an advance press screening of Season 2, and already saw today's episode. :I

She did recommend this rather nice video summary of Season 1 to prep for the new season; its great if you were watching but haven't seen Season 1, are familiar with the books and considering watching the series, or are looking for a plot refresher. It has spoilers for S1 after about halfway through, so I wouldn't recommend it if you intend to watch it, and don't know the books.

It has begun!

If I were to stream Episode 1 of Season 2 Monday Evening (EST), would people be interested in watching? Also, are there people who have yet to see Season 1, and would like to see those too? (I could also do other days of the week, if another day works better for more people)

I'm not sure I could make it since I have D&D Monday nights. Though I think everyone who can make it definitely should! I very much enjoyed this episode. I should have an appropriate new second half of the title of this thread by tomorrow. When I've had more sleep.

I'm okay with it, I hope. Do you mean early evening (sixish) or late (10-12), by the way? It affects me as a farawayian.

Either works, though I think 6pm EST is okay in more timezones. I have a pretty open afternoon, though.

Episode 11 was pretty damm awesome I must say. Perhaps a little bit slow at the start, but it picks up very quickly.
It's been a while since I read the books. But I think they rearranged the scenes a little bit more than they did with season 1. I think it is great nevertheless, it gives more screen time to their awesome characters.

Soo yeah, awesome season start, looking forward to the rest!

My friend says book 2 will be split into 2 seasons. Confirm/deny? This would make sense, as it would allow them some more breathing space before they catch up to the books. At the current rate, it'll be time for season 6 before book 6 is published, and even if book 6 comes out by then, there's no way book 7 will be out 6 years from now...

Cool episode. I like Stannis.

If they want breathing space, it makes more sense to divide Storm of Swords into two seasons than Clash of Kings.

It's probably false, since GRRM livejournal'd about his progress writing the battle scene at the end of CoK, referencing it as "Episode 9 of Season 2".

Okay, getting ready to stream the Episode 2 in case folks wanted to catch it with me! Link to the Livestream is over on the Livestream Thread.

We'll start with a 20-minute recap of Season 1, and the TV Series as a whole, just in case you needed a refresher or missed it the first time around. Hope to see folks there!

I wonder if they picked up on that meme and added it to the first episode because of that.

Also the kid who plays Joffrey really does one of the best cold psycho king acts I've ever seen. I remember him as being a lot shorter last season though. Must've grown a lot in the few days between them ;)
