Who is he even smacking?  Geoffroy, or however you spell dude's name?
Yes, that pretty little thing is Prince Joffrey.

Huh, good casting!

Indeed. More interesting: this kid is the one in Batman Begins. The little blonde kid on Arkham Island who gets bullied. I can never unsee it. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0322416/

So I had to pass out before I could watch it last night, but I got to watch it this morning. I must say that their casting decisions in general have been spot on.

I forgot to change the topic name last week, but I have rectified it this week. Do enjoy.

The actual book series apparently has 3 novels to go.

The good news is that one of those three is on its way. The bad news is that I can see him trying to make it 8 books in total.

I haven't been following the show yet, though I read the books up to halfway through three. What do you mean by the title? Have they cut out the Sandor-Sansa relationship?

Wait

They cut it?  That's my OTP :I  DISAPPROVE MOST HEARTILY

I pretty much never ship anything, but for this series... surprisingly, yes.

They haven't cut the relationship as far as I know, but they changed a scene, and I have heard second hand that a good deal of the Sandor/Sansa fanbase is very much unhappy with it. I've been a little bit too busy for the past couple of weeks to ACTUALLY follow the fandom, but I am hoping to fix that once my midterms are over.

My own shipping preferences are a little bit problematic: I ship many characters with many other characters as a general rule, and this tends to bite me in the ass when reading Martin's stuff.

One of the things I've always liked about ASIAF is that characters aren't lumped together into little groups. They're their own people who do what they feel. And relatively minor characters become suddenly extremely important in a flash as a result, such as Robb not having much bearing on the plot all through Game of Thrones and then suddenly being a major focus as the book ticked to its end, completely seamlessly.

It also makes things less cut and dry. I don't want to spoil anything for people who are watching the show but haven't really followed the book, but Prince Joffrey is powerfully hated by two separate characters (presumably by the end of this season), who both strongly feel he should die a terrible death. In many fantasy stories, this would be a fairly simple "JUSTICE MUST BE DONE! I WILL HAVE SATISFACTION!" thread. In this case, you want both characters to get the satisfaction of getting their revenge, and since they are miles apart at any given time, you're somewhat torn by the fact that a joint effort is unlikely. If either of them pull it off at all.

Sansa and Sandor Clegane never really seemed like a woven plot pair, though. Undeniably, Sandor gets more development through Sansa than most anyone else, but Sansa's reaction to him never really changes from "Oh god oh god oh god". Sansa spends a lot of the books being bounced around a multitude of people without really developing a strong relationship with them, though.

But it would be so hot =/

I know this is terrible, but I (despite all the illogic) have always liked the older dude/younger lady or "monstrous" dude/"troubled" lady pairs.  So... yeah.  Shipshipship

How can anyone like Sansa? She's almost as whiny as Samwell Tarly.
