How can anyone like Sansa? She's almost as whiny as Samwell Tarly.

But how could anyone dislike Sandor Clegane?

And through her whiny, irritating voice, he's kind of fun to read about.

This woman needs to never have a job as a journalist / reviewer again.

AKA: "She criticised a show I like! Jihad! Jihad!"  ::)
She didn't just criticize it, or criticize it badly, she criticized it like a crazy person. The only coherent parts ooze contempt for the very notion of fantasy, and she breaks into "Wait, what?" territory rather quickly thereafter.

If you're gonna criticize something, you should do it well. But barring that, you should at least be coherent about what you don't like.

Yeah, Sandor is the 2nd awesomest character, right after Tyrion. His story would've been ever more awesome if it wasn't from Sansa's point of view.

Meh, I don't have as much fun with Tyrion.  I get kind of sick of reading the word cock.

I tend to prefer Theon Grayjoy, mostly for his sister fucking with him, Daenerys, and Jon.  Okay, and Anya, I really like her too.  And the son who gets thrown out of the tower... bah, I can't remember his name right now.

I wish I were more fond of Catelyn than I am, but I really don't like her very much.

Yeah, he could do with a bit less swearing, but you still have to admire the man for his honesty. Especially since he so successfully intertwines it with cunning. And he's an incredibly good person, taking into account his life, which brings a tear to my eye on occasion.

Yeah, still--it may just be a facet of my prudish upbringing, but I get so tired of reading about sex like you wouldn't believe.  I often have to put the book down when I end up with one of his chapters... just waaaay too sexualized for me to really deal with, much of the time.

I agree with you on his character and do think that he's interesting/awesome/everything, but I guess I'd just have to say that he's really not my type (for selection of favorites) and leave it at that.  Just a matter of taste, because I'm with you on everything.

He certainly makes it difficult to simply root for the Lannisters to be wiped off the map.

The books didn't mention the relationship very much in the first one, but I think it works for the TV series to set up things to come.

Stannis is ok for a LN character I guess, but he has a horrible taste in councelors and a terrible sense for priorities.

Bah, I like Stannis and his teeth-grinding.  He's kind of hilarious that way.

This is one of my main problems with Martin in general. Most of the sex scenes feel entirely gratuitous and overdone.
