Winter is certainly more of a problem to be coming that April.

...They don't truly celebrate April Fools where you are from, I see. ;)

But... Winter is the best season ;_;

I couldn't read this thread at all for the first season due to spoilers because I was always a few episodes late, and now I can't read this thread at all for the second season because it only starts here in May hrnnnghgh.

Dude, the first season just started over here ;)

If not because a nice, sexy guy streamed it I wouldn't have been able to see it before now either.

I had this problem, too. Some asshole wrote a hefty five volume tome filled with spoilers for the show.

I am entirely too stoked for Season 2. I'm having a hard time convincing most of my friends to get into it, so in lieu of that I fully intend to stream it again for folks. The Livestream thread is in my sig, though I can post announcements here too.

If anyone missed Season 1, we could watch through those again too.

I'm having a hard time convincing most of my friends to get into it
How is this even possible. :I

2) If the TV series ventures into other books, it'll still be called A Game of Thrones instead of A Song of Ice and Fire? Isn't this slightly misleading?
People who aren't familiar with the books won't notice. People who are familiar with the books probably won't care, and if they do they'll probably be interested and knowledgeable enough to instantly pick up on the deception and adjust accordingly.

I haven't started watching the TV show yet, so I have a couple of questions.

1) Will Season 1 be based solely on the first book (A Game of Thrones)?

2) If the TV series ventures into other books, it'll still be called A Game of Thrones instead of A Song of Ice and Fire? Isn't this slightly misleading?

1) Season 1 was based solely on the first book in the series. Season 2 will focus entirely on the A Clash of Kings. If season 3 gets green lit, it will focus solely on A Storm of Swords (and if this happens, I sure hope they get more than 10 episodes to work with...)

2) HBO will not allow them to change the name of the series each season because it could confuse some of the fans. While HBO has been remarkably understanding about what kind of content the series can show, at the same time it's just trying to make sure that everything possible is done to make the series profitable. The show will continue to be called A Game of Thrones for every season it broadcasts.

"Game of Thrones" works as a more descriptive name for the series anyway, and is more or less the theme of every one of the books in the series. "Song of Ice and Fire" is probably a bit too artsy froo froo for the audience they're aiming for, and doesn't as artfully convey both the focus on political intrigue and the time-period.

Well, when I think of it I don't really remember how it ended, but I remember that it didn't feel like an ending ending. I would have been very disappointed in a book that ends with such feelings. And, you know, excited for the next book, which I guess is the point, but still.

It ended with a badass chick running out of a fire with breast-feeding dragons strapped to her. Probably the best ending ASIF will ever see.
