A Game of Thrones: April is Coming
« on: March 02, 2010, 06:17:52 pm »

See here.

Or here!

My avatar is finally unironic. I realise there are some haters out there, but I am stoked for this. I've been following its production for awhile now, and now that it's official I can't wait.

;D

An Edit:

Episode one is out now. :3

I don't get it your avatars a smiley face.

An unironic smiley face is what it is supposed to be. The smiley has every chance of being very ironic when compared to my actual feelings. It is, however, at its most ironic when the person viewing the smiley is aware of which xkcd comic it is from, and makes the reference. Unfortunately, it is a lethal reference, and with sudden knowledge of its purpose it could quickly cull the population of a message board.

If you look back far enough, you'll see the comic in question. You'll appreciate the time you took to find it.

Back on topic: This is really going to hang on how they portray a few of the characters. If the ones that aren't immediately obvious are acted badly, and for example

, then I'll hate it. And to be frank, ambiguity isn't something most American dramas do well.

The Wire pulled it off though, and HBO were behind that as well, so I'll reserve judgment until I see it.

The main reason everyone is glad it's on HBO is specifically because it's the only American network that could pull it off. GRRM himself approves of all the cast choices, so I doubt it will be too much of a problem. I also managed to ... see ... a version of the pilot's script and I was quite impressed with what I read.

Wow, no one has written on this thread in a while, but all the trailers are out for Game of Thrones on HBO airing APR 17th!  Looks awesome.

I finally finished the 4th book, A Feast for Crows last week.

Anyone else looking forward to the show?

Oh man, I forgot I even made this topic. I've loved all the trailers I've seen so far, and this new one is particularly epic.

Hey dudes, there's a 15 minute preview of this out there now. On HBO's site, and possibly elsewhere.
