oh sorry, I mean I turn her into a cat then waited until the cats started giving birth and swap her race back to a dwarf.
the pet part was just added since seeing a dwarf be someone's 'pet' is rare.

Here it sounds like a viable race and doesn't seem strange at all. It could fit perfectly fine. In fact, I believe it might just be possible without any modding or changing dwarves later, if you get a dwarf and a tiger(wo)man and put them in the same 1x1 room with large amounts of booze.. All we have to wait for is a genetics update.

It's Dr. Horrible. Of course it exists (and is far full of awesome). (Is Dr. Horrible a no-adjective Mad Scientist/Mechanic/Seige Operator, and Captain Hammer a superhumanly tough Legendary Wrestler who finally got a spear through the figurative lungs when Penny died, and now keeps passing out?)

Or it will be a being roughly between elf and dwarf size, with no real love for trees nor mountains, most likely not getting moods like dwarves or having a dwarven sense of art. He or she may search others of roughly their description, and they will live in wooden houses on the plains, wearing iron armour and using iron weapons, metal like dwarves, but not quite as good as the dwarven steel. They might build maybe a few, small(By dwarven standards) megaprojects, such as a keep or temple, but they will never live out in the open like elves, or underground like dwarves.

They might also worship different gods, and send trade caravans, and who knows, maybe they can gather enough soldiers for a war, and send armies..Possibly after an incident with their diplomat. They will thrive near the coast, where none of the other races have any real interest, and will build roads aboveground not unlike the dwarven tunnels. Their leader will be a strong fighter, possibly legendary, one for each town.

....Wait a minute..This sounds familiar.

Ah, but humans don't eat sentient races. Not even goblins do that!

sorry if it means that much to you be glad you did not ask for proof of this working.
that member not only got killed multiple times due to a tantrum of the first cat/dwarf but their daughter ended up dying the same death that which annoyed them.
also I made a short thread on how to pull this off any way.
