The Guardian is completely superior. I think it disables normal newspaper writing once you can write for the guardian. It might be by safehouse though.

The wiki claims that the newspaper trains Writing much faster than the Liberal Guardian. Could this be true?

Writing to newspapers isn't disabled once you can write for the Guardian. But as Jason said, the wiki states writing for the Liberal Guardian trains the Writing skill much slower.

That might be true, but it's an oversight on my part if that's the case.

I find it particularly annoying that both diplay in the Activate Liberals screen as "Writing". Couldn't they be different somehow, or then have writing always mean liberal guardian if possible?
