101 Uses for Goblins

Goblins are truly the most powerful resource in Dwarf fortress. Sure they can't light things on fire like magma, or drown your most obnoxious nobles, but where else in the game can you get, in such a convenient package:
1. A walking, renewable source of iron ore-
2. bones-
3. skulls-
4. and giant spider silk trade goods
5. A good excuse to tell the next elven caravan when they come around asking what happened to the last group they sent to your fort.
6. Goblin golf for my hammerdwarves

7. A lot of laughs when something 'Fun' happens to them.
8. A nice way to end your fortress.
9. Volunteers to test your elaborate deathtraps.
10. A nice source of paint for your walls.
11. Funny names to laugh about.
12. Great cage inhabitants for your zoo.
13. A source of challenges for any arena you may be running.
14. Sacrifices to the gods in any random magma pit.
15. A way to give any noble an 'unfortunate accident'.
16. A great way to 'dispose' of hippies.

I think I filled too many spots by now.

I remember the first time I embarked at one of their towers, with my dwarfs armed to the teeth, ready to kick ass, take names, eat cake and slaughter some goblins...only to find that they'd not only abandoned one of their towers, letting me colonize it, but also were sitting in their new, taller tower, waving and inviting me over for tea. Hell of a let down that was.
And their 'tower' was more of a warehouse.

26: One of the few sources of happyness for my military dwarves!

That last one, seriously. Some of my military dwarves have this huge list of horrifying misery, and took joy and slaughter. And they are doing just fine. Harcore ;D

35.Distraction for dangerous local wildlife.... elephants anyone?
36.Free goblin Fort after clearing them( or only if they siege?)
37.Elven survival run, it requires a few gobbo's and a elf on the run!
38.Migrants disposers
39.A leader carrying 3 pages of rings,ammy's or whatever for sale

40. finders of gaps in your fortress defenses
41. anti-goblin defenses (*goblin bone bolts*)
42. getting rid of your immigrant('s) children

I think this means that at some point Toady should program in 'Paint' as a usable item. That way you can use your dyes for multiple things, and quite literally use goblin blood for paint.
