Jack flees the battlefield at 10 or lower health
true
you've got him cornered
he's not on a corner, he's on an edge. He could leave the battlefield any moment now.

He's between two edges and he looks cornered as in he has nowhere else to flee unless he uses phase shift or exits the battlefield. I don't know whether its possible for two characters to be on the same tile of the battlefield or not though.

I like to finish with rupture...it goes down smooth, and since the enemy explodes, no long death speeches! (usually)

Actions: Finish heem wit da Ruptuuuure!

I don't know whether its possible for two characters to be on the same tile of the battlefield or not though.

It probably should be, I just don't have an efficient way of displaying it (I'd need tiles specifically designed for two characters... they'd be tedious to make)

Maybe just shrink the portraits and stick them onto a square with a diagonal line in between? Still would have to do it for each one and would be time consuming. We'll just figure out something I guess.

Wow, uh, Raith and Dwarzga's attacks are both undodgeable, so there's no way for Jack to avoid being killed now.

I think I'll end this fight in a cutscene, and just give everyone equal EXP.

Gimme a sec to write that up...

In truth, we're really lucky that Fault is not trying to kill us. If Jack has spammed firebolt, like a certain Dwarf who's name will go unmentioned, he could of one shotted the party one by one. X_X

Yeah. I think Jack was a bit overpowered. I'd rather have an enemy that acts rationally, but isn't very powerful.

Yeah, it may make sense, but it doesn't make for a very satisfying game.

IMO, all magic that's unblockable is a game breaker.
Speaking of unblockable ranged attacks, don't my spirits have one?

CUTSCENE

The final guardian grows weak, hunched in the corner of his glade. His spirits have turned against him - truly his doom is at hand. His final protector, the Orc warlord, has been thrown off balance by Raith's defense. Raith, seeing this opportunity, unleashes a deadly spinning slash, bisecting the orc's spectral form. Jack moves to dodge, but he too is caught by Raith's spinning steel!

JACK TAKES 14 DAMAGE

A wide gash appears in Jack's belly, bleeding profusely. He clutches his guts in vain, his manic laughter becoming a worried chuckle. Before he can react, a new pain wells up in his body... Dwarzga is working her magic, building arcane energy within Jack's wounded form. Jack clutches at his chest, trying to keep the pressure under control, Until he can bear it no more, and the gash in his belly explodes! The expulsion of arcane energy propels viscera flies in all directions, tearing apart the remaining spirits. Amidst the gorey display, a whisp of ethereal smoke is blasted from Jack's corpse.

ALL PARTICIPANTS GAIN SIX EXP

The smoke flies away, cackling and screaming.
"I'LL GET YOU NEEEXT TIIIIIIIIIME...."
The voice of Jack fades from the glade.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

As if on cue, the final piece of the Key erupts from Jack's brutalized body!

THE PARTY HAS GAINED CURSED FRAGMENT!

Well this game is VARY unbalanced so it is more about fun and RPing anyway. It is not really about what they can do but what they do.

Although perhaps in the future it would be best not to tell us the ability's of the bad guys.

With the final piece of the key in hand, a magical current overtakes the area, wrenching the key framgents from the party's pockets. The key assembles itself in midair with a flash of green light, forming a stone ringlet enscribed with mystic runes.

THE PARTY NOW HAS THE POWER TO PASS BETWEEN THE REAL WORLD AND THE SPIRIT WORLD AT WILL

Well this game is VARY unbalanced so it is more about fun and RPing anyway.

Ah, I have been trying to make the combat sequences harder, but you guys keep trashing the bosses like they're nothing. I really need to work on enemy design...
