Don't worry good sir, me and my "friends" will be the protectors of Brindol. I shall take the crown for now to prevent it from falling into heretic hands. We will defeat the evil wizard and bring peace to the land!

Jorn attempts to find the crown (which was badly charred by Dwarzga's fire)

CUT SCENE TIME

Strangely, the crown has found its way back onto the Duke's severed head. Ignoring this oddity, Jorn attempts to remove the crown. In a burst of arcane energy, Jorn is thrown away from the severed head, which begins to rise from the ground, held aloft by purple flames. A distorted, grating voice issues from its slack mouth.

"FOOOOOOOOOOOLS!! THERE IS NO FORCE CAPABLE OF BREACHING MY MASTER'S FORTRESS!"

the head hovers around the room, ranting and raving. The Captain draws his sword.

"THE GREAT FORTRESS OF CHAOS! BEYOND THE MOUNTAINS AND BEYOND THE HAZE! A PLACE NO MAN DARES TO TREAD!!"

The captain strides forward, leaping off of an empty treasure chest. He strikes the floating head out of the air, sending the crown clattering away. The head lands with a thud, and explodes in a puff of violet smoke (the last remnant of Vigrid's power has been excorsized from this place). The victorious captain kneels down and says a short prayer.

The crowd begins cheering, softly at first.. "the captain vanquished the demon.." "he killed the Duke!" "our hero!" "our king!" A peasant child plucks the crown from the ground and places it upon the kneeling captain's head. The crowd gasps, and the captain, realizing what has happened, rises up and begins speaking.

"I'm sorry, Jorn. I'm afraid our law states that whomever bears the crown must keep it, and do all within his power to keep the peace in Brindol. I can not accompany you on your journey. But I think I might know what the Duke's head was talking about..."

The Captain will not follow the party, but has offered to help you out. He is currently willing to answer questions.

Chances are he would have just giggled like a mad man, tell us something stupidly cryptic, then die of natural causes.
that was a damn good prediction.
I shall take the crown!
stop trying to take over the country!  >:(

"May the record show that I was not part of these guy's insane plot of ruling over the kingdom, I had no plans on having the crown taken by incompetent hands. So now that we have this all settled out, what was it he was talking about (hey that rhymed)?"

(OOC: Hehhehehehehhehhhehehehhehehehehhehehheh)

What me and my companions need are three fold if we are to fight the evil.

1: We need a base to rest and prepare in.
2: We need access to supplies to help us on our quest.

We will range far and we know your new influence is limited but still we may have to do distasteful things, such as killing a evil duke. What we need is autonomy to work. We need to be almost above the law so we don't have to worry about being killed or imprisoned in the fight against evil. High ranking positions in your new government would also help us move around your realm without suspicion.
3:  We need power and autonomy if we are to fight the evil that infests this land.

(+3 to Charisma)

Edit: Durn edits not showing up on SOMETHING HAS CHANGED!

stop trying to take over the country!  >:(
Eh It will should will hopefully happen eventually, just trying to get a early start.

As far as I can tell Próthaa is a female, therefor the proper way to say it would be "'May the record show that I was not part of these people's insane plot of ruling over the kingdom, I had no plans on having the crown taken by incompetent hands. So now that we have this all settled out, what was it he was talking about (hey that rhymed)?'"

Ya but she has not really been trying to take over, it has mostly been me and Próthaa.

Well yes, I know "people" would have been more correct, but I wrote the dialogue with a bit of accent, so I was going for realistic speaking rather than grammar

So now that we have this all settled out, what was it he was talking about (hey that rhymed)?"
"He said his fortress lay beyond a mountains and haze. Well, the Nearest Mountain range is to the east, I figure that'd be the best bet as to where his fortress is."

1: We need a base to rest and prepare in.
"You can stay in the Inn until you are ready to embark. After that you might find hospitality in the Dwarven tunnels in the eastern mountains.

2: We need access to supplies to help us on our quest.[/b]
"Only the finest goods for our heroes. I'll see to it that the merchants outfit you with supplies for your journey." (these will be delivered once you decide to leave town)

3:  We need power and autonomy if we are to fight the evil that infests this land.
"I assure you, as long as you are within our lands, no one will delay you in your quest. The nobility has.. less power in the elven and dwarven lands, however..."

I will heal the wounded party members than suggest that we spend the night at the inn and than be on our way.

Also I am getting really tired, I may have to go soon.

Okay, the first map is up in the original post. The map will be expanded on as the quest progresses.

The Party will leave the Duchy of Brindol, continue on their quest, AND recieve their supplies from the merchants.... in the NEXT SESSION.

G'NIGHT EVERYBODY!
