Jorn leaves the party to go to the church? isn't he the same guy who said:

Don' split the party! That's were danger lyes, for you, because we wont be able to save you if you get attacked.

but I digress:

QUEST PROGRESS

Jorn and Prothaa enter the church. it is built of stone and marble, and has several stained glass windows. The church is in a state of obvious disrepair, and the priests appear sullen with depression.

Jorn asks the Bishop if there are any errands that need doing.
"Oh, nothing much, young man. It wouldn't hurt to donate to our cause, though... all our collections are going to the Duke these days..."

Prothaa acts completely innapropriate in a church setting, but her indisgretions are disregarded by the bishop. He seems to sullen to care.

Dwarzga and Garrow continue to pull shenanigans outside.

Rothgar asks the gate-guard about the orc's tribute schedule:
"he would send a goblin diplomat out every few weeks. Never asked for much, mostly a bit of food if they were running low. It was kind of nice actually, his presence kept anything too nasty from settling near here."
Rothgar asks who is in charge of the Town.
"oh, that'd be the Duke. He lives up in yon castle counting his gold, the greedy old bastard..."
Rothgar pursues the topic of the purple-robed sorcerer.
"Hush, you stupid goblin! We can't let the townsfolk know about such a man! You should ask the patrons of the brotherhood of brodin, they'd be more knowledgeable..."

RAITH GOES TO THE STORE (three steel coins=one gold coin)

Armour shop
2 belts (5 inventory spaces)-1 gold coin each
1 iron chainmail (+2 defense)-3 gold coins (SOLD OUT)
1 longcoat (10 inventory spaces)-3 gold coins (SOLD OUT)

Forge
2 Iron axes (+2 to damage)-3 gold each
1 Iron sword (+1 to damage, +1 to attack rolls) -3 gold each
2 Iron maces (+2 to attack rolls)- 3 gold each

Food shop
Apples (heals 2 health) -3 for 1 gold
Alcohol (+2 to attack rolls for 3 turns) -1 gold each
Meat (heals 1 health, +1 to attack rolls for 3 turns) -1 gold each

((Also, remember that while I spam Charm a lot, this is because it often fails, and I never get good loot from goblins. Wheras Firebolt does great damage and never misses.

you'll get a more efficient way to deal damage at CHARISMA level 10.

"Thank you, thank you! No, thank YOU! and a round of applause for my partner Oldey the clown!" *points to Garrow* "He was a real class act, wasn't he folks!"

Actions: Take a bow to the crowd and check my hat to see if anyone gave me some money for my performance. Knowing peasants, they probably threw turnips lol. Split any proceeds with Garrow, rounded toward myself of course!

Oldey the clown (AKA Garrow) waves to the peasants, but at the same time gives Dwarzga an odd look.

I overhear the talk of donations going to the duke and decide upon checking out his treasury.
I first head to the market to sell my sign and convincce someone to buy my sign and rusty chainmail for at least 4 gold total.

"What! The Duke is taking your tithes? That is completely inappropriate! I will ahve to go talk to this duke to sort this out!"

(Subquest!)

Jorn tithes one gold and one steel to the church. Jorn than heads out to get a audience with the duke.

I'm afriad that this will be my last post of the night, most likely, so I'm trying to cram as many actions as possible into a single post.

>Try and change my appearance as much as possible (change clothes, style hair differently, etc)
>Ask the various townspeople about the orc warlord to try and learn more about the warlord
>Confront Jorn, as a follower of Brodin, about the purple-rober sorceror
>Ask the various townspeople what direction the nearst church devoted to the god of the order is
>Go to the duke and claim to be sent from the orc warlord. Act slightly confused and scared. Ask for some gold. If the duke wants to know why the method of collecting is different than normal, say it is because the warlord is having an altercation with another one, and as a result current resources are very stretched (but after this affair things will be back to normal)
>Head off to the nearest church devoted to the god of order

patrons of the brotherhood of brodin = Do not = brotherhood of brodin.

GARROW AND DWARZGA PROGRESS

The peasants react oddly to the presented hat. Some shrink back to their homes in shame. It is clear they have nothing to give in return for this performance.

JORN PROGRESS
Jorn speaks with the guard at the gate.
"Ooh, more travelers."
Jorn asks about getting an audience with the Duke.
"he isn't accepting visitors anymore.. word is he doesn't even leave his chamber to eat."
Jorn asks again, more insistently.
"look, I can see you're a man of the cloth and you care about things like this, but don't you think the local church has already tried to stop his greed? I'd like to give the Duke a piece of my mind as much as the next guy, but he's still got the castle guard on his side..."

ROTHGAR PROGRESS
Rothgar stains is robes and headband with mud and wears them differently (to conceal his face).
Rothgar questions the townsfolk regarding the orc warlord. Their replies are similar to that of the guard.
Rothgar confronts Jorn (Jorn may reply to this as he wants to)
Rothgar asks about the nearest church of order
"Bordin's the only god what matters out here. You won't find monasteries until you hit the mountains to the south."
Rothgar is refused by the guards at the gate, as the Duke is not accepting visitors right now.
The nearest monastery is way too far away to do this.

Raith looks over the selection in the food store, drooling a little (well, a little more than usual) "Ah, fresh meat. Been a while since I had a nice decent meal in so long. Today, I'm your favorite customer"

Raith buys the longcoat, 1 iron sword, 2 bottles of beer, and 3 pieces of meat for 10 pieces of gold and 3 steel coins, then attempts to pawn off his old sabre. He then heads back for the group.

Is there a reason I can't go to the market? Perhaps in this society I need a male escort? Explaining why the inn sent Garrow?
Even if so, I go to the market alone.

QUEST PROGRESS

Dwarzga goes to the merchants and asks how things are doing.
"ah, business has been really bad lately... taxes were tripled, and now no one has enough money to buy more than the most basic essentials. You travelers are a great boon to our busines... If'n you'd be willing to buy something..."

Is there a reason I can't go to the market? Perhaps in this society I need a male escort? Explaining why the inn sent Garrow?
Even if so, I go to the market alone.
Oh you wanted to go to the market? I must've missed that. Yeah, you can buy whatever. If they let a goblin shop there, they're certainly going to let a woman. Oh and the inn didn't send garrow because Dwarzga was a woman, he came out on his own because dwarzga is a dwarf.

Jorn asks the gate guard about meeting with the captain of the castle guard.
"You could speak with him later tonight... he comes by the inn to visit the tavern and stay in touch with the common people.

The merchant refuses to buy Raith's sabre - he can't afford to give up one piece of gold.

((It was a joke. But I though Raith was keeping a low key with his boar tusks.))
Convince someone to buy the sign and rusty chainmail for 4+ gold, and buy an iron chainmail and belt.

the merchant refuses to buy your rusty chainmail. He can't afford to give up one piece of gold.

The merchant is visibly upset at your attempt to sell the town sign.
