Raith looks over to Dwargza, enraged "You want to repeat that, you fuzzy, stone munching, grubby hand drunkard?!" Now in a stir, Raith moves north again, now wanting to get into combat.

Swiftwind fires an arrow at spearcarrier 2. His agility is 3, and yours is 5. He must beat 2 to dodge!
Goblin's dodge roll: Results=5
The arrow misses and flies into the mass of goblins climbing the stairs.

umm, isn't that backwards? I have more agi than him... Shouldn't that mean I need a 2 to hit him? *confused*

Also, did the shots from before do no damage at all? they just sorta poofed.

And I did say I wanted to be along the wall right of the door, but no biggie.

Fire away with the bow. :)

So if you had more Agi, then you'd need a 3 to hit him?
I think that's how it worked until Fault realized it made no sense.

The more of an Agility advantage you have, the higher he needs to roll, see?

wait a sec. Now that I think about that rule, the roll really makes no difference... (facepalm)

POSSIBLE REVISION You're right, it is backwards.
Current ruling: If you have less agility than your target, you must roll to hit. If you have more agility than your target, your target must roll to dodge. If your agility is six greater than your target's, it becomes impossible for him to dodge. If your target's agility is six higher than yours, your target is impossible to hit.
Possible New rule: Each ranged attack (unless it is undodgeable) shall be accompanied by two rolls. One for the target to dodge, and one for the attacker to aim. Each character's agility will be added to these rolls.
If you could vote as to which ranged attack equation you think works better, that'd be really convenient.

also, I forgot to add experience points to Dwarzga, as she killed a spear carrier.
Dwarzga gains 3 experience points.

Also, did the shots from before do no damage at all? they just sorta poofed.
There are a lot of goblins climbing the stairs. (four waves in total). Your arrows made... little difference.

It does make a difference. If you must roll to hit, then you want a lower difference. If your opponent must roll to dodge, you want a bigger difference.

Okay, if you think the current system works, I'll stick with it FOR NOW. but if another problem arises, I may have to make some revisions...

Now I can get to making the next Combat log...

Guys, I think you can hold off the waves if:
Prothaa and Jorn charm any new goblins
Dwarzga and Swiftwind attack any remaining goblins
Raith moves forward and defends with the charmed goblins at the 3-wide chokepoint in the north

Now, everyone watch while I do it...again!"

wow this could get monotonous.

OOC: Well, it depends how "RTD" you want it to be, really. For example, I could try firing 3 firebolts at once, or make an exploding firebolt, or combine a firebolt with one of Swiftwinds arrows to make a fire arrow. The fun comes when I roll a 1 trying a trick shot. Of course, that would make the game much more...complicated.

;D

Dwargza looks over to Raith "I wasn't talk to ye, nitwit, I was talking to the nitwit I just shot wit' a ball o' flame! Open your pointed Goblin ears, for Armok's sake!"

*sigh* ok, I wanted to move to the right of the door before combat, XD not waste a turn moving 1/3 of the way instead of attacking the horde of goblins before us.

anyway, to make things interesting, I will try and shoot the nearest goblin in the leg with my next arrow. No more moving please.

Raith ignores Dwargza horrid attempt to apologize, and moves north west to tie up the warriors, casting Tank Bonus on himself.

look at the turn order. You would have shot if you could, but the last uncharmed goblin had already been killed by the time your turn rolled around, and the other enemies didn't show up until after your turn had ended.
