Próthaa examines one of the spikes.

The metal is hard to identify, it appears to be a poorly forged mix of copper and lead. Such a bastard alloy could only be crafted by goblins. Some spots of it appear weaker than others... It could probably be bent if enough force was applied.

Raith looks at his handwork, utterly dumbstruck that the spike actually reach to the roof. "Alright, that's...ya. Lets try this again." Raith then turns to the lever mechanism and try to get the spikes to go down. As he works, he keeps a close eye on the door leading out, hoping he can this to work before the guards decide to return.

RAITH MAKES ANOTHER ATTEMPT AT FIXING THE LEVER

Rolling D6: results=3

The mechanism shifts, and the spikes lower temporarily. It would appear that all the pressure of the mechanism is being supported by a single brass gear. The weight is slowly forcing this gear out of its socket. Were it to leave its place the spikes would surely begin moving again...

Raith gains one experience point for his display of "mechanical knowledge". only 9 more until level 2!

You have a limited time to cross the pressure plates before the trap reactivates. I suggest moving AWAY from the door.

Dash across. Wait for spikes to rise again. When they do, bash a hole in them with a bone.

Rolling D6: results=4

The sharpened rib lodges its way into the lower mechanism, displacing several gears. The spikes become jammed in the lower position, and the sharpened rib is lost  :'(.

Próthaa has defeated the trap! She gains 1 experience point.

Suddenly, you hear several footsteps approaching the door! You have a short time to either bar the door, or prepare for combat! (anyone still near the trapdoor will be excluded from combat)

Combatants:

Raith
Swiftwind
Protha

Noncombatants

Jorn
Rothgar
Dwarzga

Draw back my bow and arrow, ready to let loose at the door should it be needed.

We are already past the point of trying to sneak out, fighting out way out should be the next order of buisness. There might be treasure to be found as well.

SUDDENLY The door bursts open, filling the room with goblins!
Two spearcarriers, a MaceMan, and an Axeman (I hope you recognize the colours) are preventing you from reaching the door.

(Swiftwind has charged an arrow)
(the far left tiles are pressure plates. They can be stepped on, although adding too much weight may set them off...)

Goblin spearcarrier 1
attack: 3, HP: 3

Goblin spearcarrier 2
attack: 3, HP: 3

Goblin Maceman
attack: 4, HP: 4

Goblin Axeman
attack: 4, HP: 4

Raith sighs "I hate this. I really really hate" Raith moves east, then cast Tank Bonus on self "I'll try to stall them! You two better know what you're doing"

SORRY EVERYBODY

Due to some copy and paste errors, this section of the Combat log is LOST FOREVER

but we've already finished combat, so that's not too important.

(Sorry, I'll try to keep this from happening again)

SUMAMRIZE: Goblins were charmed and forced to attack eachother, Raith Blocked a lot of attacks.
