I wish to step behind Rothgar and cast firebolt at him, propelling the flaming goblin straight at the Duke as live ammunition.

Cast charm, considering no one's actually attacking head on.
Jorn: attack head on! Move to the enemy.

Well, that was easy, unless this boss is 2 phases!

Actions: firebolt him to DEATH Wait while he get in his last words/threats/plot hooks in edgewise-then firebolt him, especially if it sounds like he's trying to summon something or make a prayer.

combat has ended, wounds don't really matter anymore.

Also lets try not to kill him just yet.

THE DUKE IS VERY HEAVILY WOUNDED, BUT STILL CAPABLE OF ANSWERING QUESTIONS.

I only have 1 question for the Duke: DO YA WANT IT IN THE FACE, OR THE HEART?

Raith enters the room, somewhat embarrassed. "Sorry guys. I, uh, accidentally left my axe back in the hallway. What did I miss?"

CUT SCENE TIME

The Duke collects himself a bit, then grins at you, blood leaking from his mouth.

He laughs a Dwarzga's threats: "I don't know what you hope to achieve by killing me..."

Taunting you further, he says: "Even if I die, you will never defeat my master. He will send the world back to the primordial chaos from which it spawned... And there's nothing you can do to stop him."

Raith enters the room, somewhat embarrassed. "Sorry guys. I, uh, accidentally left my axe back in the hallway. What did I miss?"

oh hey Luke, check this out:

I based it off your inventory and your character description. What do you think?

Dwargza says "Do Tell duke, how does your GREAT and MIGHTY master plans to do this? Assuming most of his minions are well..as strong as you? Which is to say, not strong at all!"

CUT SCENE

Suddenly, the castle begins to rumble and pulse with arcane energy, almost as if it is answering Dwarzga's challenge regarding strength.

"My master... He comes..." Utters the Duke, an smile spreading on his face.

In an instant, The far wall of the Dukes' chamber is blown to pieces, revealing Fausto astride his winged steed. He is hovering outside the tower. His very presence once again stuns the party!

"Giovanni. Why have you summoned me?"

"Please, my master! Give me the strength to vanquish our foes!"

"And what do you have to offer in return for such a gift?"

"only a King's ransom in gold, my master."

"Very well."

Fausto dismounts his steed and enters the room. He kisses the Duke's forehead, and then turns to the gold. He places his hands upon a chest, and in a flash, all traces of Fausto and the treasure vanish from the chamber.

The Duke's form begins to change rapidly... The stump of his arm issues violet blood and then spontaneously regrows. His eyes blaze forth with purple light, and the eye-like jewels on his crown soon follow suit. In his right hand appears a blade composed of burning, purple gemstones, and his body becomes wreathed in the flames of chaos.

He lets a roaring laughter, fell and terrible, and begins advancing on you!

INITIATE COMBAT!
