We have the other key. Honestly the spirit world did not look so bad, they only were concerned about keeping the key away from bad guys.

QUEST PROGRESS

VALDAR whips the key out of his pants like it's NOTHING

The druid is brought into awe at the sight of it. His eys widen, and he loses concentration.
The druid's vines retract from the door

Immediately, The party of elven scouts collectively kick in the now unprotected door, and begin advancing forward!

"Relinquish the key, Outcast! Shaft, the Lord of the wood, demands it!"

You notice that they are not accompanied by their charismatic leader...

Do you wish to initiate combat, or try to reason with the elves?

Haha so much innuendo. I mean, "Shaft", the "Lord of the wood"?

Valdar tries to reason with them with his superior charisma

"You don't understand, human! If that old fool leaves the conduit open, then that wizard could return and pervert it's power for his own purposes!"

Valdar tries to reason with them with his superior charisma
I'm going to assume that since you didn't post any dialogue that Valdar just winked suggestively at one of the elves and didn't say anything.

Oh. Okay.
Valdar reasons with them with his superior charisma! "My friends! Do you not see? If we close the conduit, we keep souls from passing to their eternal rest. What use is preventing the wizard from wreaking havoc if we do the very same ourselves? And in any case, you need not worry about the wizard. We will deal with him for you.

The elf remains indignant.

"what makes you think you can defeat a magic user of such power, bard?"

Because he fears us every time we meet he runs away like a scared school girl, if we could not defeat him why does he run?

"Because" Raith interrupted "he's not the only one fighting. My friends and I have faces similar threats, and they all worshiped the same monster god. We will beat him, and then you can fix the conduit."

We have gone through death itself and back! We have defeated the very souls of the wicked! We have destroyed the favored priest of a god itself! We will crush this wizard like we have the others. And in any case, even if we do not, you cannot justify sealing the souls of the entire world to destroy, nay, even only delay, one wizard.

CUTSCENE TIME

"Well, okay. I guess that makes sense. We're counting on you to stop anyone who would prevent the sealing of the conduit."

Another elf interrupts the first, whispering into his ear:

"umm, I'm not sure our lord would be very happy with that..."

A booming voice echoes from the forest outside:

"YOU'RE DAMN RIGHT I WON'T! I LEAVE YOU FOR ONE MINUTE AND YOU BETRAY ME?!"

Shaft is marching towards the temple, shouting at you. Around his neck is a vine lined with hallucination berries.
He makes for the door to the temple, but it is quickly sealed by the druid's vines.

Shaft, being an archer, has very low strength and is unable to make the door budge!

"FINE THEN, OUTCAST! IF I CAN'T HAVE YOUR KEY, I'LL TAKE THE ONE FROM THE OTHER SIDE!"

You hear shaft noisily consuming the entire vine of hallucination berries. With a painful, distorted wail, his voice fades.

"oh no..." the druid says. "this could be bad..."

afk for dinner

The druid is willing to answer questions

Small question... what happens when one eats to many berries?

You get super high. It is like chocolate combined with crack injected into your veins, so much that it makes up 70% of your bloodstream and you are on the verge of death.
