What you want it to be
« on: February 28, 2010, 06:47:26 pm »

I've devised a system which is extremely flexible, and works in all settings. It works like a roll to dodge, but I don't roll and instead choose what happens how I feel like. Often, things you want will happen, but if you use caps lock, you may suddenly explode. Being too general or doing impossible things will result in attempting to take the first step. Random things may happen. I'll attempt not to be biased, but I may actively work against those being annoying to me.
For the setting, I will let you guys vote. Which setting is the setting for this game, the one in the first, second, third, or fourth post?
When choosing a character, tell me what you want to do. If it's opening up a shop, I'll have your character doing that. If it's saving the world, I'll have your character do that, in the same world. Whatever you want it to be.
If you think this is stupid, say so.

The kitchenette mold free, you move on to the pantry. it's nasty in there. The bacon is grazing on the lettuce. The ham is having an illicit affair with the prime rib, The potatoes see all, know all. A rat in boxer shorts smoking a foul smelling cigar is banging on a cabinet shouting about rent money.

Labs, you can't force players to have an economic sim. It's just multiple different adventures in the same world.
Alright, in the morning I'll lock voting and use the top result then.

Oh, wait, I'm confused now. I thought we were choosing the whole game. Rules and all.

No. The players choose their own game, but we're voting on the setting.

I vote for dystopian space future. Think Blade Runner.

Who needs knights and kings when you have cyborgs/deckers and corrupt corporations!?

If only the first poster had included Tentacled Abominations in his. He'd have all votes.

There could still be aliens... I'm not entirely sure about that though.

Dang man everyone automatically assumes that Tentacled Abominations have to be all Lovecraft. Maybe they're not aliens! There was that tentacle monster in the swamp outside Moria in LotR.

The watcher in the waters? He was really more like a Kracken, or giant squid.
