Trade Goods such as Windows?

Is it possible to trade for Windows or is that something that you can only export to people?

There are some things you can't buy, I think furniture, sand, vials, water and certain special materials.  So no I don't think you can buy windows :( Glass might be available in the upcoming version though.

Ah I see, guess I'll have to wait till I get a glassbold to start adding windows to the rebuilt buildings from the ruins of the human town.

Why trade for windows when you can get linux for free?

It's great if you have the resources on your map to set up a Windows industry.  Once you get the workshop running it costs nothing to create more and you can sell them for hundreds of dorfbucks each.  The only thing you have to be careful of is not to trade them with the Open Source Elves.

Caravans will not trade you for windows, they assume you have it already.

On a serious note, caravans don't bring glass, yet. So until DF '10 rolls around, you'll actually have to export glass to break that 'no exporting X glass items' to make your <insert noble here> go insane from failure to be able to punish people.
