Open fire on the ones in the middle, and then group up and wait for counter attack.

the ones in the middle are dead.

Pull  the guy that's closest back, and take careful shots at the bandits whenevr they try and emerge, wait till it sounds like they are out of ammo, then circle south and blast them from behind.

Bottom green dude: Check debris into the middle to try and attract the attention of the bandits
Top-left green dude: sneak to the rock to the north-east and flank the two nearest bandits from there
everybody else: Don't shoot unless you see movement. If movement around where the bandits are taking cover is seen, shoot at it

the upper two green dudes will be in our sights no matter where around their cover they position themselves, so they will shortly be shot and killed. Afterwards:

-shout to the other two that they are surrounded. Tell them to toss their weapons into the middle, crawl out from their rock, and lie down with their hands grasping each other behind their head, facing away from our group. If they do not obey, repeat the above tactic. If they do obey:

-assign a pair of people to each bandit. One member of the pair will keep their weapon aimed at the bandit, and fire if anything hostile is attempted. The other member of the pair will give a quick pat-down searching for hidden weapons. If any are found, toss them into the middle. Afterwards, tie their hands behind their head (use clothing from the deceased if no suitable material is found) and give a more thorough pat down.
-after the above, get the two to crawl next to each other and lie down as above. Have one person interrogate them (numbers, supplies, destination, etc) while another keeps their weapon pointed at them in case they do anything hostile. The other members of the group will then check the bodies, tossing all weapons with the others from the bandits and taking anything else useful. If any are merely wounded, give them emergency medical treatment, tie their hands together, and interrogate them (if possible. Do not move them next to the others).
-Procedure for checking bodies:
--check in pairs.
--firstly, try to get a reaction out of the body (kick it or something to make sure it's dead)
--one person will roll in onto its side, and another will check for explosives underneath. If any are seen, the checker will yell, and the roller will quickly roll the body back to its original position
--if no explosives, sort posessions of the body and take what is useful.

For future reference and firefights:
You and Milan will be fireteam Charlie, whereas Jimmy, Sam and Chaz will be fireteam Delta. You will travel in a line perpendicular to your direction of travel, with Charlie on the left and Delta on the right. In the event of encountering hostiles, the following will be performed:
1-get down immediately
2-if the enemy force is very strong, retreat. If it is not strong, advance.
2.a-when retreating, one fireteam will give covering fire, while the other team runs backwards. After about two seconds of running, get down and give covering for so the other fireteam can run backwards. Continue in this manner until safe.
2.b-advancing is the same, except you run towards the enemy instead of away. Avoid crossing into the other fireteam's line of fire
3-when close enough, one fireteam will flank the enemy. either Charlie will attack from the left, or Delta from the right, depending on the terrain and cover.
4-when the enemy are dead, the fireteam that flanked will approach their position directly. The other fireteam will not go directly, but instead take te same path as the flanking fireteam.
5-when at the enemy position, take hostage anyone that survives and check the bodies (using the method outlined above).

-snip-
You pass the orders around the group and everyone gives you the OK. Sam throws some debris into the middle area and Jimmy heads to the north east rock to flank the bandits. You see him sneak around the boulder and then gunfire. You proceed to shout to the bandits that you have them surrounded, and order them to surrender. After getting no response you head around the rocks that the bandits occupy to try and flank them, for good measure you take Sam with you. You poke your head around the rock and open fire on the two bandits, killing them both, but you are fired upon by a lone bandit on the north east. You see him scurry off to the east after he has finished firing.

You check what happened to Jimmy and you find him lying next to the corpse of the bandit he killed, lifeless and bloody. You drag all the bodies into the middle and check them for useful items. You find some 5.56mm rounds, food and water, enough body armour for everyone and a few 5.56mm assault rifles that are in very bad shape. With your new equipment you find that it will take another ~24 hours to get to Huge Ben on foot. So you set off.

You ask the squad if they have any skills, none of them have anything useful. You head into the ruined city, prepared for whatever may be in there. As you move through the fallen concrete and metal you notice an awe inspiring sight to the east. The sun is rising directly behind Huge Ben and being distorted by the radtion on the horizon. The result is a bright sky of every colour imaginable, and a large shadow being cast over Latar by Huge Ben.

You march onwards for a while and find a small building that you decide to rest in for a while. You have only been sat down for an hour or so when Sam spots a large group of bandits heading towards you.

Find a building with no ground-floor windows (if possible) and try to enter it. clear out any inhabitants inside, and try to gather supplies. If no/few supplies can be gathered, try other buildings, but retreat to this one before nightfall. When resting, make sure one person is always awake and on sentry duty.
