Permanent side effects of old (and healed) injuries?
« on: February 28, 2010, 08:19:24 am »

Ok so this hauler was out taking wood back to the stockpile, and apparantly a fire imp had strayed a little bit and attacked him. I managed to see the *.. was interrupted by Fire Imp* message, so i recruited him and he managed to kill the fire imp only sustaining a minor (yellow) head injury. Of course thats healed now, but i randomly get messages saying; *cancels job, unconscious*. I check and hes not being attacked or anything, and his info screen says hes fully healed, but he just randomly loses consciousness :p How cool is that? I thought that when it was healed its healed lol. Good things hes not an important dwarf anyway :)

Check for other wounds. maybe he is missing an eye or something and the pain is causing him to pass out.

Scroll down the wounds menu, there may be some internal injury that didnt heal. His brain for example cant heal, and gouged out eyes never return, obviously.

Suprisingly dwarves with yellow brains can still survive, it tells you just how much of them they use...

Though they might just do stuff like Urish McBrokenbrains cancels sparring in barracks; Drooling.

Well that should be less weird next version. Though no doubt there will be new weird stuff then. Looking foward to it hehehe

Don't know how he would have had an injury like that though. See when the job cancelation message appeared i paused it and went to him, it was just paused as a firebreath was being thrown at him, and i watched the fight he just closed in and killed it, and a fire imp wouldnt have damaged him upclose would it? cos you cant get brain injurys or gouges from fire :s

I think there is a bloat or power goal for this, where the effected will behave different as an effect of injuries.
Isn't that just wonderful?

What happened? Did he go unconscious on top of a trap? Did you "dispose" of him? Did a fire imp finish him off?

Went unconscious on top of a trap thank you for clearing that up i was wondering why the hell it killed him :P Why does it do that? Is it just a 'dwarves tread carefully round the traps cos they know they're there which is why they dont go off' explanation?

Pretty much. If you fall unconscious while tip-toing carefully around the pressure plate...
