Hmm... I suppose I could be the Mr Miyagi to her Karate Kid. That could be amusing.

Or I could be a preverted Mr Miyagi to hér Karate Kid! :D

"High kick! Low punch! Polish my wood!"

"What!?"

"Sand the floor. Yes, that's what I said." *innocent whistle*

I have some heavy school-work coming up, so I won't be updating as often.

Journal of J."B". Eyre: (01-18-40)

Well, these aliens... You gotta see it to believe it. I don't know if that last ship was supposed to either resemble a stingray, or a fleshy pastry bag. Either which way, we had ourselves a rather decent mission. Nobody died, but we lost 3 guys to wounding; overall good.

Everyone has to remain in high alert when going inside those ships. Did they not read the notes from the last war? Anyway, I found a way to snatch my goods out of the locker. I smuggled some to the wounded guys. I figured they'd appreciate some relaxers.

I wonder if the BR mod for the mess hall's display screen has been done yet? I brought a few BR-Rs of my own; more to screw with the minds of the crew, as well as 'stress relief/reference material'. I have stuff ranging from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (the 2011 version), Sphere, and maybe a tentacle hentai based on a "what if" scenario involving our company (under a name that kinda makes me cringe at the mere thought of it; you know these hash-up films, how they "try" too hard with naming and all.) working in the water instead of land (seems familiar eh?) involving a sea base getting attacked by sentient squid or nautilii or brainy things with tentacles, or whatever... Anyway, the premise of that one that caught my attention was (aside it being based on XCOM's exploits) after a mission KO-ing one of them it starts attacking the crew of the base. I think it was a horror hentai which some brainy tentacles attacked the characters and then afterward they turned into them; sorta like the Chryssalids of the past, but a more bizarre version.

As hot the scenes were when the characters were attacked, it was a horrifying reminder of what these aliens could be capable of. Those battle reports from the last war... Still give me nightmares. Knowing the last war, I hope that movie doesn't become a reality at all, otherwise that's it for me and porn (especially the tentacle kind) for the rest of my life.

--EDIT--
Edit? EDIT?! OH (RAP!!! I can't take my reports back. I think HQ might get a hold of this and give me a psych evaluation. WhatdoIdo?WhatdoIdo?WhatdoIdo?WhatdoIdo?WhatdoIdo?

--EDIT--
Oh (rap. I seem to have forgotten that we did come home 1 man short. How did I miss that big lug? I was probably too distracted coming up with a scheme to get my stuff back. I guess the mission didn't go over all that well after all.

MINI-STORY POST
Jan 20th, 2040
Held another funeral. Anya gave me some advice for dealing with Mr. Vengeance. I asked her to keep an eye on him all the same. Something's just off about that guy.

Jan 22nd, 2040
Ace downed another UFO. We spotted this one off of Alaska. It was one of their tiny subs. Ace obliterated it. Alhazred was pissed that we couldn't recover anything. The Dolphin Freak asked if he could take a transport to the US to recover some stuff he left behind. didn't see the harm, so I let him take one of the personal craft.

Jan 23rd, 2040
[a large amount of swearing and ranting about lax security]-how'd the girl stowaway on a 1-man sub? More importantly, how did that freaking dolphin freak not notice? I put her in the brig and called a meeting of the upper staff and Marcus.
Me: "So let me get this straight. she hacked into a Government database, found out the details of her brother's demise, then stowed away on your submersible?"
Deadmeat: "errr.... yes?"
Me: "and you didn't notice anything?"
Deadmeat: "..... no?"
Me: "You now have KP duty for the foreseeable future. Dismissed......... So, what should we do with her?"
Alhazred: "we can't let her go. She's seen too much, and more importantly, knows too much about our operations."
Anya: "Maybe we should send her into combat? Her brother's death might give her some motivation"
Me: "true, but she's a civilian*. I doubt she'd last long in combat at all!"

At this point of of Alhazred's people walked into the room, handed him a folder, and left.

Me: "Tell me that the folder means you've finally finished the medkits?"
Alhazred: "No, this is our little stowaway's personnel bio."

Me: "hmm, a little training and she might make a decent soldier, actually. Anya, what do you think?"
Anya: "We might as well take her. She isn't a scientist or an engineer; we have enough janitors, clerks, bureaucrats, and kitchen personnel. We can't let her go, so we pretty much have to take her."
Me: "Marcus has some combat training, right?"
Alhazred: "I think so."
Me: "Then he gets to help clean up his mess. Tell the both to report to the firing range tomorrow morning. He's going to be her combat instructor."

On a related note, more contraband has been confiscated. Inquires are also being made into the contraband that has gone missing.

Jan 24th, 2040
Al and I finalized our method of dealing with contraband. 1/2 of it will be recycled into toilet paper. the other 1/2 will be used as a kind of reward. Soldiers/ scientists who do well might have some relaxation time, if you get my drift.

good post, but i am curious. how is this base so secret, after all the terror missions from the first war you'd think x-com would be really well known by now. unless the underwater branch of x-com is still secret.

lil miss stow-away could make a good sub breacher with a thermal rod and a pistol me thinks.

oddly this possition has been the safest in my play through.

I'm guessing the Allied Nations would rather the populace didn't know that the aliens were back. People can do some bad stuff when they're afraid.

Now I just have to figure out where the hell Marcus would have gotten combat training in the thirty or so years I have to work with, history-wise.

I'll put up a journal later tonight, I think.

Not a good idea. Dart guns suck bigtime compared to the pistols from the first game.

People KNOW X-Com exists. that doesn't mean they know WHERE the bases are, WHO is involved, and other juicy secrets. Remember, Aliens have mind probes. They could probably rip whatever knowledge they wanted out of a civilian. If Mr. Civie knows where X-Com is based, the Aliens would know.

Apparently, my guy's message wasn't clear. He has some "reference material" based on an alternate purpose of an X-COM alike (although it's not appreciated among prude crew members; And it's setting seems rather familiar, though more of the action is against X-COM regulations by means of fraternizing with the enemy. ;) ). What are the chances it was a veteran from the last alien war that decided to produce it? There was the "go ahead" anyway. Plausible deniability; and society is jaded enough to violence and other things; just look at the internet and various gorn that plagued movie theaters and home box offices.

I think people are familiar with them, though for other reasons. Think sorta like the Stargate episodes that riff on the show-within-the-show's Stargate-like show. But due to it being in a "fictional" setting, there's plausible deniability that can come from such products.

People tend to be rather cynical, but with some wishful thinking about the "fantasy" within the series. Not all of it has to be fictional; but society doesn't need to know about it.
