I am starting this RTD/RP here after posting it on the MyWorld forum just because I thought you people here at Bay12 would be interested. Players can create a character and they will be placed in a random starting position within their town.

A Day to Remember!



Mechanics: It will be an RP/RTD. Players will need to find food and water. There will be random encounters. Players will have free roam of the world. Each turn is six hours time and players can cram as many actions as they think they can get a way with. Actions will be determined by the rolling of two six-sided dice, one for sucess rating, 6 being the highest, and one for luck, six being the highest. There will be a realistic wound/recovery system. There will be a basic overhead map drawn of the play area for each player. There will be NPCs with varied relationships to players be it enemy, friend, wife, child.

Backstory: You are a citizen of a city or village that has been recently decimated/looted. The invading force has long since left and you find yourself in your home/business/hole. You find on your person, two days food and water, basic clothing, and tools and equipment related to your skill. Players can set their own goals such as, your family was killed in the raid and you swear vengence.

World: There is no magic. Players can choose any skills they wish be it smithing, looting, fishing, swordsmanship. The world map will be drawn up only after a player finds a map. Your civ has knowledge of steelmaking and basic knowlege of gunpowder.

Goal/Aspiration: Make new stuff and turn existing stuff into better stuff.
Profession: Tinkerer
Skills (be reasonable): Mechanics, Physics, Explosives, Trap-Making
Any extra equipment (again, be reasonable): Toolkit, Trap Triggers, Steel Wire, other assorted mechanical stuff.
Background (entirely optional but reccomended): When he was a young kid, his parents took him on a trip to the countryside. He got lost and stumbled upon an old animal trap. He was hooked - quite literally, as he was stuck on the trap, but also figuratively, as he was intrigued by how it worked. He spent the rest of his life tinkering with various mechanical objects, making a living my selling some of his creations to others who needed them.

Name: Henry

Goal/Aspiration: Protect and rebuild this area

Profession: Soldier (Commanding Officer)

Skills (be reasonable): Swordsman, Heavy Armor, Leadership

Any extra equipment (again, be reasonable): Steel Sword, Commander's ID

Background (entirely optional but recommended): He is the only surviving member of his unit, sent to protect the people, he fought for days attempting to hold of the attack. On the eighth day of fighting he realized that no reinforcements would be sent, and, against orders, decide to commit his man to one final assault to drive of the forces. The last thing about the battle he remembers is pain. He awoke days later in the ransacked church, having been nursed back to health by the Priest of the area.

Anything else (pets, family members, ect.): He Is loved by the inhabitants of the village. He owns a 6-week old puppy given to him by a little girl he saved.

Name: Barton

Goal/Aspiration: Find his little brother.

Profession: Cow Milker/Carpenter

Skills: Animal Knowledge, Strong throwing arm and Carpentry. 

Equipment: Club w/ a nail in it, bag of heavy rocks, several bottles (empty), cooking pot and a hammer.

Background: As the village was destroyed around him, the last image he saw was his little brother disappearing through the smoke.  He then vowed to find him. --  Before the attack he was a part time laborer at a nearby cow farm in the morning.. then worked as a freelance carpenter as a hobby and source of extra income.

Pets:  Bella (a sway backed old mule), Rex a husky/lab mix.

Gender: Female

Goal/Aspiration: I can't think of one, can someone make one up for me?

Profession: Carpenter

Skills: Wood working, foraging, wood cutting, Axe fighting.

Equipment: Steel double-bladed axe, Metal saw.

Anything else (pets, family members, etc.): Has a husband and a horse.

Background: Lived in a village, met her husband there, and became a carpenter... And she still lives in the village. I can't think of a good one.  :-\

Alright, once we get enough players, I'll make up some character sheets with inventory, status and status modifiers, location w/ local map, and some other things.

Goal/Aspiration: Open a Inn with a pub on the lower floor and beds on the upper floor.

Profession:Ranger

Skills (be reasonable):Cooking, Leather armor, Bow,

Any extra equipment (again, be reasonable): Rope, Belt pouches, Dagger, Cooking pot.

Background (entirely optional but reccomended): Daroth grew up with his parents working in a Inn but after the village got attacked the inn was burned to the ground. Now he works on pubs and restaurants to get money for building the inn up again.

Anything else: no

Goal/Aspiration: To kick ass and take names of everyone who ransacked his hometown.
Profession: If asked, "Professional Badass". Truthfully, Swordsman.
Skills (be reasonable): Swordsmanship, Light Armour, Inspiration.
Any extra equipment (again, be reasonable): Steel Shortsword, Kickass Sunglasses.
Background (entirely optional but reccomended): Blaze trained as a swordsman from an early age, showing interest in the fine art of hitting people with sharp pointy sticks. He generally takes a liking to anyone who he finds to be valuable or good-natured, although they shouldnt relax too much because his friendship is almost as lethal as his hatred. He takes a minor caustic dislike to authority, causing him to be ill at ease around anyone he considers overly powerful.

I raise up and walks out the door, watching out the village and walks towards the woods in search for a stick (I search until I find a good one).
I take my dagger and the stick and ties them together with a piece of my rope to make a spear.
I walk with the spear to the stream watching through the house windows and see people inside.
At the stream I take off my boots and walk into the water.
I raise the spear and attempts to catch fishes with it. (In about 4 hours).
I walk up from the stream with my spear and puts on my shoes and pick up the fishes I catched and walks home.
At the home I start setting up my kitchen tools and start to cook the fishes.
