Woss' wrong with a 1399 start, exactly? As in, what bugs, etc.?

I think the MM developers didn't balance the game in 1399; it was basically an afterthought. More attention was paid to 1453.

Anywa, I got the EU3 Complete, I'll install it and MM, and I'll do a Japan AAR.

Intueniso, I can have a game pretty much any day this week excluding weekends, also. One more player and we'll have a wonderful failure to document. Two more, social collapse. 3 dwarfs more dwarfs, the would will implode. If we play multiplayer, I suggest using the Whole World mod, or Vanilla. Magna Mundi is designed for single player.

Pick the military hardasses and conolialize america from the other side. Then wage war against spain and portugal over carribean islands.

The EU engine doesn't let you colonize eastwards across the international date line.  There's still australia, indonesia and siberia however, which is more then enough room to create an empire large enough to bankrupt his country in.

I'm not sure, I know in the faction selector when you start/load there's a black line down the international date line, dunno if you can cross it or not since I've never played that far.

I'm certain you can colonise past that line.  Might have some fun getting the naval tech necessary to pull it off, though.

If you couldn't cross the IDL, Russia couldn't colonize Alaska.

You can cross the IDL , but it can cause a bug with colonial range that crashes your save when you load it up.
