In the beginning there was stone

And Armok saw that it needed shape

Thus he created dwarfkind to give it purpose

And it was good

And Armok saw that their creations were simple and primitive

Thus he created booze to inspire them

And it was good

And Armok saw that the dwarves lacked pride in their work

Thus he created elvenkind to feel superior to

And it was good

And Armok saw that the elves infuriated the dwarves

Thus he created goblinkind to fight against

And it was good

And Armok saw that the dwarves wasted their time with simple tasks

Thus he created mankind to harvest the surface and offer it to his chosen people

And it was good

And Armok saw that the dwarves would only shape the superior stone near the surface

Thus he created adamantine to lure them into the depths

And it was good

And Armok saw that adamantine was making the dwarves too strong and arrogant

Thus he created the PRICE

AND IT WAS BLOOD

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I'm pretty gifted in the art of making up religious sounding nonsense. Mind if I help?

Nice.
Very Nice.
fix'd  ;)

Thank you.

Is it weird that I misread the thread title as "Gneissis" the first time?

No, that's awesome and I wish I would have thought of that.

I'm afraid there won't be more. At least not from me.

excellent.

though I never considered Armok to be the direct creator, or even the destroyer. so there fore I never cosidered him to have a direct religion; more so the general force of dark power in the multi-verse.

But epic anyway.

That's the great thing about this forum. We can derail any discussion into any other topic.
It's not an embark so much as seven dwarves having a simultaneous strange mood and going off to build an artifact fortress that menaces with spikes of awesome and hanging rings of death.

Odd!x

the way the adamantine deposits are shaped, and in regard of what they contained... I always thought they were of Divine Inspiration to contain the... 'Price' safely

until dwarves said "hey, I can make some !@#$ing fine socks out of this!"
